There are more NFL games coming to Netflix in the 2026-2027 season. It’s all part of the major expansion for the streaming giant, as it looks to gain more subscribers for live events. The 49ers vs. Rams is the first of the major games, and you will not want to miss out.
Netflix isn’t the only streamer breaking into sports. Prime Video made a deal for Thursday Night Football a few years back, and the Amazon streamer is now bringing more women’s basketball, soccer, and various other sports to screens. With its success, it’s no wonder other streamers are following suit, and Netflix started with some major live fixtures over the last few years, including the Christmas Day 2025 game.
When Will the 49ers vs. Rams Kick Off?
The only way to watch the Week 1 showdown between two of the biggest rivals is via Netflix on Sept. 10, 2026. The game itself is being played in Melbourne, Australia, the first time ever that a major regular week of football has played Down Under.
The best part of the deal is that it doesn’t matter which subscription tier you have. Netflix will bring the game to every single subscriber without any extra ads. Of course, there are some ads, because what’s football without commercials?
Pre-game content will start at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. The game will kick off slightly later than a normal Thursday Night Football game, at 8:35 p.m. ET/5:35 p.m. PT. If you’re used to watching TNF on Prime Video, the games will move back there after this special airing. Remember that the Week 1 game is usually only on the NFL Network.
All the Pregame and Halftime Content on Netflix
GettyWhile fans won’t get the X-ray content that is often available with the Prime Video games, there are still some exclusive elements to look forward to on Netflix. The first is the pregame content, which will be led by Netflix sports host Elle Duncan. Then, Michael Irvin, Nick Foles, and Clay Matthews III will host the postgame studio coverage.
As for the halftime show, that’s over to the Jonas Brothers, who will put on a performance. There will also be in-game coverage from Noah Eagle, Luke Kuechly, Tom Pelissero, MJ Acosta-Ruiz, and Terry McAulay in various ways, such as play-by-play coverage, sideline reporting duties, and rules analysis.
Future NFL Games on Netflix

Then the streaming giant will get to air the Christmas Day game again. The Packers take on the Bears, and this will air at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on Christmas Day. Stick around for the Bills vs. Broncos at 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT on the same day!
After that, it’s all about Week 18, which is when the regular season is heating up in a huge way. The matchup is still to be confirmed, but fans can look forward to it on Jan. 9, 2027, at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
All the details are for U.S. viewers. While the games will also air on Netflix in many other locations, they won’t necessarily be exclusive in those countries due to other licensing agreements.
