Now, decades later, she’s still a force and has a starring role in the upcoming Netflix series “The Boroughs.” Recently, she attended the show’s premiere, dressed in a classy, chic black dress that got everyone talking.
Regarding “The Boroughs,” the supernatural series is executive produced by The Duffer Brothers (Stranger Things) and premieres on Netflix on May 21. In addition to Davis, the show stars Alfred Molina, Bill Pullman, Alfre Woodard, Clarke Peters, Carlos Miranda, Denis O’Hare, and Alice Kremelberg.

GettyNetflix held the premiere for “The Boroughs” at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, on May 18. The legendary actress wore a plunging black dress complete with a pair of white beads.
GettyTo complete her ensemble, she donned black stockings, black shoes, and a classic silver necklace. Still, as social media has stated, her warm smile was the true star of the show. While at the premiere, the “Boroughs” star also posed for photos with her costars. Below, she can be seen alongside Miranda, who opted for a classic black suit, paired with a white shirt.

As mentioned, “The Boroughs” premieres on Netflix on May 21. The sci-fi series centers on a group of refugees in a New Mexico community who are threatened by an otherworldly force. It’s then up to the characters to solve the mystery presented by the malicious entity.
The season will consist of eight episodes, all of which will drop on the premiere date, according to IMDb. As of right now, there is no second season planned for the series.
Geena Opens Up
Davis recently interviewed with The LA Times to discuss not only “The Boroughs” but also recently becoming a trending topic after appearing at Coachella. Regarding the much-talked-about appearance, she said, “The reaction really blew my mind. I didnโt expect to suddenly be trending!”
From there, she discussed the series, saying, “Itโs such a special project, so well-written. And I just love the ensemble.” She added, “I wanna kick some [but], stack some bodies. The gray rebellion rises.”
Regarding the timing of the Netflix series and the Coachella signing a “Davis-sance,” she quipped, “Itโs a Geena-sance. Although I guess Davis-sance is good as well.”
Toward the end of the discussion, Davis reflected on her career and the choices she has made. According to her, “I decided early on that I didnโt want to play just the girlfriend of the person doing the stuff. I wanted to do cool stuff, too. I have avoided being typecast.”
