There has been a lot of discussion about “The Gentlemen” Season 3 in recent days, but one thing many overlooked was the fact that Netflix hadn’t even given the show a renewal. It was all speculation, as many had high hopes for the Guy Ritchie series.
Netflix has finally given everyone the good news. “The Gentlemen” Season 3 is officially happening, and the renewal comes much sooner than the second season renewal did. This brings some hope that fans won’t be waiting as long for the next part of the story.
‘The Gentlemen’ Gets an Early Renewal
Netflix“The Gentlemen” Season 2 will debut on Netflix on Sept. 3, 2026. Nobody was really expecting an official renewal until after that date. After all, despite a strong start when it dropped in March 2024, it took until August of that year for the streaming giant to give the go-ahead for more of the story.
This led to some delays, meaning that it took more than two years to see that second season. In fact, by the time it drops, it will be two-and-half years since the Theo James-led drama premiered.
The early renewal makes it clear that Netflix is confident that this series will draw in the audience again. It could be surprising to some, as a recent report showed that people are dropping off after one season. While “Running Point” and “Nobody Wants This” were picked up for third seasons, there was the admission that the viewing numbers dropped significantly from their first seasons. Many feared that the streaming giant would wait until after “The Gentlemen” Season 2 dropped to make a decision.
Despite all this, creator Ritchie just had a strong feeling that Netflix was going to be behind him, sharing with Tudum, “A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.”
There have also been plenty of rumors that Richie was working on this new season. In recent reports, Meghan Markle was potentially in talks for a role, but those talks appear to have come to an end due to the backlash from the fans.
‘The Gentlemen’ Season 2 Sees Eddie Expanding His Reach
NetflixWhile the first season saw Eddie as a reluctant duke after his father named him in the will, he faced even bigger issues with the criminal underground operating on his soil. He wanted out of that criminal operation as quickly as possible, but by the end of the season, he found his footing.
He’ll continue to grow in that throughout “The Gentlemen” Season 2. Lead writer and EP Matthew Read shared, “Season 2 was always going to be about Eddie expanding the reach of his criminal empire and testing the relationship Eddie has with Bobby Glass as the person he’s working under.”
Eddie’s world has expanded in a way that he never expected, and that’s only likely to continue as fans enter the third season. There’s no telling what position that he will find himself in, but could he decide to step out of the shadows and run his own operation?
