Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, can’t quite manage to sell their mansion in the Hamptons. That’s why they’ve just dropped the price of the property by more than $1 million.
Although the pair have listed the home in Amagansett, NY, a number of times, they still can’t find a buyer. The first time it was popped onto the market was in 2022, when it was selling for $29 million. The latest listing came just a month ago, which was “mere weeks after publicly stating that they ‘never wanted to leave’ it,” according to Realtor.com.
Now selling for $19.99 million, the sale comes more than 30 years after Alec bought the property for $1.75 million back in 1995.
What Does the Property Offer?
“A simply unparalleled vision of elegant estate living awaits in Amagansett,” according to the listing from Scott Bradley of Saunders & Associates.
Boasting around 9,000 square feet of space, the “modern farmhouse” sits on five acres and overlooks five acres of agricultural reserve.
Located on a private hilltop, the home offers five bedrooms, a formal dining room, a grand eat-in kitchen, dining room, movie theater, wine-tasting room and a wood-paneled library, as well as a sunroom and a screen-in porch.
That’s not to mention the possibility of adding up to 10 additional bedrooms.
Outside, the new residents will be able to enjoy “a luxurious custom 625 +/- sq. ft. pavilion with a magnificent fieldstone fireplace and western-facing 20’x50′ gunite pool and spa, as well as a fenced vegetable garden.”
“[E]ndless reserve views” can be appreciated from the home’s covered porches and two balconies.
The Home Comes with ‘Challenges’
GettyAlthough the Baldwin’s Hamptons mansion certainly offers plenty of perks, it also “comes with a number of challenges,” per Realtor.com.
First of all, Jenny Lenz, managing director of Dolly Lenz Real Estate, explained that its location is “not considered prime for most buyers.”
“While Amagansett is trendy and idyllic, this property is north of the highway and off the beaten path, yet it’s priced as if it’s on a prime street in East Hampton or Southampton,” Lenz explained.
Beyond that, Lenz noted that the home will likely need a bit of work.
“The house is quite dated for the current market,” she said. “Buyers in this area are looking for more modern styles and either new construction or recently renovated homes.”
Apparently, the Baldwins will have to find a buyer who isn’t afraid to put in some hard work to turn this property into their dream home.
