In the midst of their estrangement from their son Brooklyn Beckham, both David Beckham and Victoria Beckham took to social media to reach out to him once again.
The couple both shared posts on their Instagram stories meant for a special day for Brooklyn, though the posts also directly defy Brooklyn’s desire for no contact.
David & Victoria Beckham Both Wished Son Brooklyn a Happy Birthday Online
On Instagram Stories, David Beckham shared a few throwback pictures of Brooklyn Beckham, including one with David, Brooklyn, and Victoria Beckham swimming in a pool.
“27 today,” David wrote with an emotional emoji. “Happy birthday Bust,” he added, sharing a family nickname. “We love you.”
David shared another picture on his Stories, a black and white photo of the father-son pair during happier times.
Victoria also took to her Instagram Stories to share her well wishes, sharing the same photo of the family in the pool. She also shared another photo of her holding Brooklyn as a baby.
“Happy birthday Brooklyn. We love you so much,” she wrote, echoing David’s sentiments.
Though the couple seemingly meant well, the Instagram posts directly went against Brooklyn’s wishes for any contact. In fact, the aspiring chef previously asked his parents to only contact him through lawyers.
According to the Daily Mail, the eldest Beckham son sent a formal letter in January 2026 through legal channels at Schillings and Harbottle & Lewis, officially requesting no direct contact.
Brooklyn also requested that no public statements be made about him on social media.
Brooklyn Beckham Previously Shared Reason for His Estrangement From His Parents
In January 2026, Brooklyn Beckham took to Instagram to share a lengthy statement about his plans to cut off his family, out of respect for his new life with his wife.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” Brooklyn shockingly wrote on his Stories (via Pop Crave). “I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Brooklyn alleged that David and Victoria Beckham have been constantly disrespectful to him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
In his statement, he also alleged that, prior to his wedding, his parents pressured him to give up the rights to his name.
Brooklyn also shared that Victoria canceled making Nicola’s wedding gown at the last minute. According to the Beckhams’ son, Victoria also bombarded what should have been his first dance with Nicola, dancing “very inappropriately” with Brooklyn.
Brooklyn claims that David and Victoria Beckham are driven by image over anything else and that letting them go has done wonders for his anxiety.
“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation,” Brooklyn continued with his statement. “All we want [is] peace, privacy, and happiness for us and our future family.”
