Ava said she chose not to renew her contract, describing the decision as difficult but necessary as she enters a new chapter.

“This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT & subsequently WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also new turning point in my life. It has been an honor & a privilege to be Ava.”

According to Sports Illustrated, Simone Johnson signed with WWE in 2020 and began training at the Performance Center with the goal of following in her family’s wrestling legacy.

She later debuted on television under the ring name Ava as part of the Schism faction on NXT.

After roughly a year in the ring, she transitioned into a non-wrestling role and was appointed General Manager of NXT.

In that position, Ava became the show’s central authority figure, overseeing matches, introducing championships, and managing on-screen conflicts across the roster.

Her role placed her alongside other WWE authority figures, serving as a steady presence during a period of creative transition for the brand.

Memorable Moments and Career Highlights

Although her time in the ring was short, Ava built a distinct presence on WWE television by stepping into an influential on-screen role.

She became a familiar face on NXT, developing her mic work while guiding major storylines and serving as a steady authority figure.

As per Sports Illustrated, her run included scenes with emerging NXT stars, a crossover moment tied to The Bloodline arc, and several memorable appearances alongside her father. Ava also shared playful segments with Stevie Turner, who later took over WWE’s Evolve brand.

Her impact extended beyond live programming. Ava was added to the “WWE 2K” video game series as a selectable General Manager in MyGM mode, marking a rare milestone and solidifying her place in WWE lore.

After announcing her departure, Ava shared a final message of thanks on X that reflected both pride and appreciation.

“I loved being your mayor. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

What’s Next for Ava After WWE

Ava has not yet shared what comes next. Whether she remains connected to professional wrestling, steps into another corner of entertainment, or chooses a completely different path remains to be seen.

For now, her exit signals the close of a meaningful chapter.
