Eric Stonestreet, who charmed fans in his role as Cameron Tucker on the CBS comedy “Modern Family” from 2009 to 2020, took to his Instagram on Tuesday to drop a huge announcement on his fans: he’s a married man!
The actor, who turned 54 on September 9, captioned a series of sweet wedding photos, “It’s my birthday and guess what I got.” The second photo in the Instagram Carousel was overlaid with the text, “I got married!”
Stonestreet looked sharp in a black suit for his wedding, while his beautiful bride wore a classic satin white gown and clutched a bouquet of autumn-toned flowers. In one gorgeous black and white shot, the new couple shared a sweet kiss.
A small band of guitar players can be seen in another shot as the couple appears to share a sentimental slow dance. In yet another happy snap, Stonestreet playfully dips his bride backwards as the pair beams for the cameras.
Judging by the photos, the wedding appeared cozy and lowkey.
Who Did Eric Stonestreet Marry?
Although his wedding announcement came as a surprise, fans already knew Stonestreet was engaged to his girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer, a 46-year-old pediatric nurse. People says the comic proposed in 2021, after the pair had spent the past five years together.
According to the report, Stonestreet met Schweitzer in their shared hometown of Kansas City, KS at a 2016 charity event.
The day before his special birthday wedding announcement, Stonestreet showered his wife with praise for her own birthday.
His loving tribute to the brunette beauty read in part, “Happy Birthday Lindsay! You are beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of to do life with.” He went on, “And your outside beauty doesn’t come close to the blood, guts, cells, water, molecules, tissue, bones, and organs that make up your insides,” before joking, “Rereading that, I probably could have just said, ‘to your inside beauty.'”
He finished his message with the sweet sentiment, “I can’t wait to see where this next year takes us and how many fun and lasting memories we create.”
Eric Stonestreet’s Fans Congratulated Him On His Wedding
Stonestreet’s “Modern Family” fame has gained him an Instagram following of over 2 million fans, and many of those flooded his comments to offer their congrats.
One fan and fellow comedian, Jesse Tyler wrote, “Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!” Of course the comment was a joke, as the marriage is Stonestreet’s first.
Another fan said, “Happy birthday and congratulations to you both on getting married,” before pointing out Stonestreet is unlikely to forget his anniversary.
