“RIP the great James Tolkan. You were definitely no slacker. [Grateful] to know you, act with you, and direct you in Tales from the Crypt. I’ll miss you, pal.”

The message struck a personal chord for fans of “Back to the Future,” with the reference to “slacker” serving as a quiet nod to Tolkan’s memorable role and the line that became one of the film’s most recognizable.
