Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are acclaimed actors, a celebrity couple and proud parents. Along with their son, Travis Bacon (36), they also have a daughter, Sosie Bacon (34). And as Parade pointed out, Sosie “looks like the perfect fusion of her star parents.”
‘Sosie Stunned the Crowd’ at SXSW 2026
The entire Bacon-Sedgwick family showed up at SXSW 2026 and made an eye-catching appearance in front of the cameras.
“Kevin Bacon is best known for iconic films like Diner, Footloose, Apollo 13, and Mystic River. Sedgwick worked her way into our hearts in the ’90s classic Singles, and earned acclaim for her role on The Closer,” Parade noted.
“But it’s their daughter Sosie, a rising star in her own right, that we noticed on the red carpet at SXSW,” per Parade. “The daughter of the duo joined her brother, Travis Bacon, at the premiere of their horror-comedy Family Movie, in which they star alongside their famous parents.”
“Sosie stunned the crowd in a blazer, low-cut top, and slicked-back brown hair,” Parade added. “Boasting the same bone structure as her mom with a hint of her dad’s looks, it’s safe to say this starlet, who currently appears on Amazon’s Scarpetta, is going somewhere.”
Kyra Says Working with Her Children on the Movie Was ‘Monumental’
When it comes to their latest project, “[t]he Bacons are keeping it all in the family,” according to Entertainment Weekly. Kevin and Kyra “have worked with their kids, Smile star Sosie and musician/composer Travis, in various capacities over the years, but their latest joint project, fittingly titled Family Movie, marks the first time all four are leading a film as the core cast.”
“I don’t think that we were necessarily looking for something to do together,” Kyra told EW. “We pitched it to the kids, thinking that they probably wouldn’t be into it. I was so nervous. And they actually said yes. I was like, ‘Wait, what? You wanna work with your parents?’ It was pretty monumental.”
What is “Family Movie” about? “Jack Smith (Kevin) is a washed-up indie filmmaker in the horror scene, and Ellen (Kyra) is his supportive wife and longtime leading lady,” EW explains. “Their daughter, Ula (Sosie), is also an actor who, unbeknownst to her dad, plans to exit his latest slasher in favor of a role she’s landed on a TV series. Her brother, Trent (Travis), is a musician and boom operator with dreams of becoming an MMA fighter.”
EW adds that “[d]espite some major financial concerns, the family comes together to help Jack make what might be his last movie, but the production goes off the rails when they learn that Ellen has more in common with the psycho killers from their films than anyone realized.”
