Martin Short is mourning a deeply personal loss within his family after his daughter, Katherine, tragically passed away by suicide at the age of 42 on February 23.
And with that, it has brought into question whether filming on his hit show “Only Murders in the Building” will be paused. However, according to TMZ, production sources said that the “hit Hulu series is not currently in production.”
“We’re told typically, if filming were taking place in the United States, the cast and crew would be gearing up to start around this time. However, because the upcoming season is set to film in London, our sources say production isn’t scheduled to begin for a couple more months,” the outlet wrote, adding that “no production schedules have been affected” due to Short’s family crisis.
Martin Short Was Not Present At 2026 Actor Awards
On Sunday, March 1, Short was not in attendance at the 2026 Actor Awards, and his “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars also decided to skip the event.
Short was nominated for two awards, being up for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as the entire cast being nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Unfortunately, Short and the “Only Murders in the Building” cast did not win, as it was Seth Rogen and his hit show “The Studio” that won both categories.
