Jeremy Renner is officially back as Mike McLusky in Paramount+’s hit crime thriller “Mayor of Kingstown.” After recovering from his near-fatal snowplow accident, the Oscar-nominated actor is suiting up once more as Season 4 is set to premiere on Sunday, Oct. 26, and fans finally have their first look thanks to a newly released teaser trailer and official synopsis.
Official Synopsis and Cast of the Paramount+ Hit
According to Paramount+, the new season finds Mike facing unprecedented threats as rival forces circle the town. “Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town,” the synopsis reveals. “Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”
The series stars Renner alongside Edie Falco, Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Nishi Munshi. Backed by Sheridan’s powerhouse storytelling, season 4 promises more grit, heart, and raw intensity than ever before.
What to Expect From ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 4
Created by Taylor Sheridan (“Yellowstone,” “Tulsa King”) and Hugh Dillon, “Mayor of Kingstown” first premiered in November 2021 and quickly became one of Paramount+’s top original series. The show follows the McLusky family, who have long served as middlemen in Kingstown, Michigan—a city dominated by crime, prisons, and corruption.
Season 3 concluded in August 2024 with a dramatic finale that saw Mike eliminate Milo (Aidan Gillen), but not without devastating consequences. Kyle McLusky (Taylor Handley) was arrested following a disastrous police op, Iris (Emma Laird) died of an overdose, and the Kingstown Police Department was left fractured. Season 4 picks up in the aftermath, with tensions higher than ever.
“It’s a detonation, not an escalation,” co-creator Hugh Dillon told Entertainment Weekly, promising that the new season will deliver explosive stakes. Renner also reassured fans on Instagram after filming wrapped in June 2025: “The new season will be worth the wait.”
