A heartbreaking new development has emerged in the search for Nancy Guthrie in Tucson, Arizona. Authorities were called to an area roughly 15 miles from Guthrie’s home after bones were discovered in the dirt, adding another unsettling turn to the ongoing missing persons investigation.
According to Fox News Digital reporter Mike Ruiz, the remains had not yet been identified when officials arrived at the scene.

Tucson Police Say Human Bone Is Not Connected to Nancy Guthrie Case
Ruiz, in another tweet, explained that authorities later determined that the bone discovered near Tucson was human, but ultimately unrelated to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.
“The bone found near Craycroft and River was determined to be human. This will be a prehistoric anthropological investigation. The University of Arizona’s Anthropology Department and the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner assisted. This is not a criminal investigation,” the Tucson Police Department said in a statement to KVOA
Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Investigators previously shared that they believe she was abducted from her home in Arizona’s Catalina Foothills, located roughly six miles northeast of Tucson.
While the discovery initially sparked concern among followers of the case, authorities have since clarified that the remains are considered prehistoric and are not connected to the active investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance.

Nancy, 84, was reported missing on February 1, 2026, after she vanished from her Tucson home under troubling circumstances.
