The private L’Observatoire cabin that Portman called home for the journey is nothing short of extraordinary.

The suite occupies an entire carriage and includes in-suite dining, a dedicated cabin steward service, and complimentary luxury amenities, according to the Belmond website. A spacious bathroom with a soaking tub and a stained glass window completes the picture.

Portman also shared a photo of the cabin’s library, which doubled as a second bedroom, giving fans a peek at the kind of old-world elegance the train is famous for.

One of the videos in her post showed breathtaking scenery rolling past the window as the train traveled alongside the turquoise sea.

The “No Strings Attached” actress highlighted a game of Scrabble and live music in one of the dining cars among the activities she enjoyed on board.

While Portman did not reveal her exact route, Belmond’s website notes the train’s most popular journey runs from London to Venice with stops in various European cities along the way. The full trip can last anywhere from one to several days.

The actress likely boarded from her home base in Paris, where she has lived full-time for more than a decade.

Natalie Portman’s Life in Paris and Her Growing Family

The actress relocated to the French capital in 2014 with her two older children, Aleph, 13, and Amalia, 9, after her then-husband Benjamin Millepied accepted a position as director of the Paris Opera Ballet.

The couple finalized their divorce in February 2024, but Portman chose to stay, putting down permanent roots in the city she has grown to love.

She is now expecting her third child, her first with partner Tanguy Destable.

A source close to the actress told People in April that the transition to Parisian life has been nothing short of transformative.

“She has a normal Parisian life. Her French is good and confident, and shows how comfortable she has become here,” the source said.

The insider added that Portman “decided to stay here for her children’s education and built herself a new life around them and her businesses since her divorce from Benjamin. And the result is that she’s fallen in love with Paris.”
