The “Yellowstone” creator has signed a groundbreaking $1 billion deal with NBCUniversal that gives him more creative freedom than ever and long-term commitments across both TV and film. Sheridan plans to create up to 20 original series for NBC and its streamer Peacock. His longtime production partner, David Glasser, and 101 Studios will move under a new first-look agreement, allowing them to produce both films and television for NBCUniversal.
The deal includes guaranteed production slots, a rare commitment that ensures multiple projects will go straight to series. If Sheridan completes his full slate, his payout will exceed $1 billion—an amount that reflects his proven success at building hit franchises.

He was also reportedly unhappy after learning that Paramount+ made a separate deal with Nicole Kidman for another project without informing him, despite her starring role in one of his series. Another planned show, “The Correspondent,” was canceled from the upcoming schedule.

Langley’s personal approach and promise of independence sealed the deal. Sheridan later informed Paramount’s David Ellison that he would finish out his current projects but planned to move all future work to NBCUniversal.
