The highly anticipated “Practical Magic 2” has finished filming. Nicole Kidman celebrated that fact with a new video that featured herself and her co-star, Sandra Bullock. Sharing the clip on Instagram on Saturday, September 13, Kidman added a caption, saying, “That’s a wrap on #PracticalMagic2! Thank you to the cast & crew for all your magic ✨”
In the video, Kidman and Bullock can be seen walking together in a field while surrounded by trees. The sun is setting — or rising? — in the distance which gives the scene a dreamy look. They can be heard talking to each other, with one saying, “Profile shot? Profile shot!”
Kidman’s Instagram followers were thrilled by the post, with one fan writing, “Can’t hardly wait 🥹✨🕯️🔮💜”
“[C]an’t wait to see u again 😍 and to hear these amazing laughs 🥹,” another person wrote in a comment, referring to the laughter that can be heard from Kidman in the video. Someone else who is obviously eager to see the new movie and sequel to the beloved 1998 flick wrote, “This is literally my favorite 90s witch movie ever! It’s the reason I became obsessed with witch movies and shows ❤️ Thanks Nicole and Sandy and now I get to see another one.”
Kidman Shared a Video in a Cemetery When Filming Started
This isn’t the only time that Kidman has given fans a sneak peek of “Practical Magic 2.” On July 18, she posted a video of herself with Bullock to celebrate the fact that filming had started. In the short clip, the two stars smiled and shared an embrace. Of course, due to the semi-spooky nature of the movie, it shouldn’t shock anyone that the duo was seemingly standing in a cemetery. Kidman revealed why the picture was special in the caption — and mentioned their characters at the same time — writing, “The witches are back ✨ Owens sisters’ first day on set! #PracticalMagic.”
Fans were definitely excited about the fact that filming had kicked off. One made that clear in a comment that said: “Oh my heart!!!!! This is what dreams are made of 🔮🧹✨”
Even Lindsay Lohan dropped a trio of red heart emojis to show her love. That’s not to mention Reese Witherspoon who left a comment saying, “Makes me SO HAPPY! ✨”
Kidman Has Opened Up About the First ‘Practical Magic’ Film
GettyFans of the original “Practical Magic” surely think the movie is special. Kidman may very well agree and for a good reason.
“The genesis and the root of it is the sisters,” Kidman told Allure during an interview in May 2025. “And then that expanded into the witchcraft and the magic of the film.”
“But there’s an emotional call, which is the sisters,” she continued. “And I love Sandy [Bullock], and so the natural kind of sisterhood that we have, I think, is reflected in the film. It was just a really fun film to make as well. I remember we would throw parties, and we would hang out a lot. … And I think the fun, you feel that in the film. And then you feel the strength of the sisters.”
“Practical Magic 2” will open in theaters on September 18, 2026.
