“Saturday Night Live” alum Pete Davidson and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt have broken up just five months after welcoming their first child together.
According to a new report from The U.S. Sun, “problems in their relationship began to escalate” after the December 2025 birth of their daughter, Scottie Rose.

The outlet reported that the comedian’s busy schedule contributed to their split.
“Pete has been traveling so much for work, but Elsie was craving more support from him after their daughter was born,” a source told The U.S. Sun on Thursday, May 14. “It was very hard for him because obviously, he has to work to make money.”
The insider added, “They pulled the plug officially very recently. They are just focusing 100 percent on Scottie.”
“Working out the best co-parenting solution is their top priority,” the outlet reported.
Hours before news of their split broke, Hewitt vented about the struggles of motherhood with a relatable Instagram Story.
“When you finally get screaming baby down for a nap and you exhale and sit with yourself for a sec and realize you haven’t breathed for an hour or peed all day,” she shared over a selfie. “The silence is deafening.”
“I am a zombie,” she added.
Pete Davidson Opened Up About Fatherhood
After announcing they were expecting their first child last summer, Davidson opened up about his excitement.
“If anybody knows me, it’s my dream to be a dad, so I’m so excited,” the “King of Staten Island” star told Jimmy Fallon. “I’m excited to see [Elsie] be a mom, so we’re stoked. Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.”
Davidson — who lost his dad during the September 11 terrorist attacks — has always wanted to be a father.
“My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, I wanna have a kid,” he told Kevin Hard in 2022 during an episode of “Hart to Heart with Kevin Hart”. “I’m so excited for that chapter.”
He added, “I assume you just try to give them what you didn’t have, and what you didn’t like—not do it.”
Elsie Hewitt Gives Birth
The former couple announced the birth of their daughter via Instagram in December.
“Our perfect angel girl arrived 12/12/2025,” Hewitt captioned a series of photos from their first days as a family of three. “Scottie rose hewitt davidson ♥️”
She added, “My best work yet, i am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief. – elsie”
Davidson, who doesn’t have an Instagram account, added in her caption, “wu tang forever. – pete.”
“I’m very lucky and very, very happy,” Davidson told E! News in July 2025. “Everybody’s just been super excited for me, because they know it’s been my dream.”
Hewitt celebrated her first Mother’s Day over the weekend, sharing a series of never-before-seen photos from her first five months of motherhood.
“We’re all here because of a mother’s sacrifice to make herself your first home,” she captioned her post. “I got to be Scottie’s❣️ greatest honor of my life. happy mother’s day💐🌷🌼”
Neither Davidson nor Hewitt has publicly commented on their reported split.
Not surprising, but sad.
