Possible Ransom Note Received as Nancy Guthrie Remains Missing: REPORT

As the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie intensifies, TMZ reported that they received an “unverified ransom note” in their email with detailed information about the investigation.

In a video shared to Instagram on Tuesday, Feb. 3, Harvey Levin explained what exactly was written in the ransom note. “So we got something in our email that looks like — it’s written like a ransom note — for Savannah Guthrie’s mother,” he said as Charles Latibeaudiere stood beside him, who added that there were “specific requests for certain amounts of money, bitcoin.”

Ransom Letter Provides Details of Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance

As Levin jumped back in to explain, he said, “And also, they say at the bottom, there are certain things they’re saying about what she was wearing and damage to the house.”

Levin continued by saying that the details given indicated that whoever sent the ransom note was trying to make it clear that they were the one responsible for the alleged abduction of Nancy from her $1 million home in Catalina Foothills, just north of Tucson, Ariz.

“We’ve contacted the sheriff’s department, and we want to get them this letter,” Levin added, noting that he had some trouble getting through to the right person at the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, where Sheriff Chris Nanos heads the investigation.

“The person we spoke with is now forwarding this to somebody in the detective bureau,” the TMZ founder added.

Ransom Note Demands Money ‘Or Else’

Latibeaudiere then doubled down on the fact that although they are still working on getting the ransom note authenticated, whoever sent the letter was desperately trying to make them aware that only they would know of the details provided in the note.

“What’s interesting is there was just a news conference that ended with the sheriff. He was asked about a ransom note, and he just said, ‘We’re following all leads,’” Latibeaudiere said.

Levin ended the video by saying there was a “dollar demand” followed by an “or else,” indicating that whomever sent the ransom note is serious about their requests.

Nancy was reported missing by a family member on Sunday, Feb. 1, TMZ reported. As the investigation continues, police have utilized homicide detectives and the FBI.

An Instagram post shared by the Pima County Attorney’s Office has since announced that they’re offering a reward of up to $2,500 for any information related to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.
