PICS: Adorable & Intimate Photo Shoot with Rob & Michele Reiner Emerges

In light of Rob and Michele Reiner’s tragic murders, photographer Michael Mundy shared intimate photos of the late couple during their 36-year marriage.

In one photo, Rob and Michele can be seen gazing into each other’s eyes, while the second picture features the couple’s loving embrace as they lounge on a sofa.

Photographer Mundy explained in his Instagram caption how he intended to send the Hollywood pair prints of their photo shoot just one week before their deaths but never got around to doing so.

“Director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner. So sad to learn of the passing of these two. Only last week I came across these photos I took of them and was planning to send to them. My heart goes out to their family and friends,” Mundy shared.

How Did Rob & Michele Reiner Meet?

In a 2022 joint podcast interview on “Double Date with Marlo Thomas & Phil Donahue,” Rob and Michele opened up about how they met and fell in love. The couple shared that the first time they saw each other was on the set of the 1989 classic “When Harry Met Sally.” They went on to marry each other seven months later.

The “A Few Good Men” director explained how he noticed Michele standing across the street with his close friends. Having instantly been attracted to Michele, Rob invited himself to lunch with her and his pals that same day. The pair would go on to have their first date just days later at Cafe Luxembourg.

‘It Just Clicked’

Although Michele was a habitual cigarette smoker, something Rob told podcast hosts Thomas and Donahue he was not fond of, he was hooked on her beauty and zest for life — and likewise. “It just clicked, and yeah, we never looked back. I mean, seriously, I never had any doubts about it,” Michele explained.

While vacationing in Hawaii several months after meeting, Rob and Michele decided to tie the knot. Realizing they’d need a witness, the couple said they used a fan of the director, who had complimented him on the beach, calling his film “The Princess Bride” a “delight.”

The couple’s devotion to each other was without fail until the very end when they were found together in their Brentwood home with multiple stab wounds. Their son Nick Reiner, 32, was charged by District Attorney Nathan Hochman with two counts of first-degree murder in the death of his parents. He will face his arraignment on Feb. 23.
