Reiner Family Opens Up About ‘Devastating Loss’ in Emotional New Statement

The family of Hollywood legend Rob Reiner and his producer wife Michele Singer Reiner has issued a statement in the aftermath of the couple’s deaths on December 14.

The Reiner family told TMZ, “Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day.

“The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life.”

The family is asking for privacy from the public, telling the outlet, “We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life.”

Rob and Michele Reiner’s son, Nick Reiner, is facing murder charges, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced on December 16.


Many began to speculate that Nick had been involved in the deaths the same day the news broke. Authorities later arrested the 32-year-old, who appeared in court on the charges on December 17.

Per the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, he’s being charged with two counts of first-degree murder. As has been known since December 14, the Reiners died as a result of severe knife wounds.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Nick Reiner was denied bail. Hochman said Reiner could face life in prison without parole, or the death penalty, if convicted. His arraignment will happen in January, according to reports.


Many Are Paying Tribute to the Reiners’ Legacies

The world is mourning the deaths of the Reiners and offering condolences to the grieving family.

One person wrote on X, “Some posts are easy to share. This one isn’t.
I had the privilege of working with Rob Reiner on the Friars Club tribute to Billy Crystal. Rob and his wife were nothing short of gracious, warm, and genuinely kind—exactly the kind of people you hope they are when you meet them.”

“Strong and determined, Michele and Rob Reiner devoted a great deal of their lives for the betterment of our fellow citizens… They were a special force together — dynamic, unselfish and inspiring. We were their friends, and we will miss them forever,” it read in part.
