Jake Reiner is the eldest son of beloved director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer. As the world mourns the loss of Rob and Singer, attention has also shifted to the family they leave behind, more so because the couple’s middle child, Nick Reiner, has been arrested on suspicion of their killing. A homicide investigation is underway.

Daughter, Romy Reiner, was born in 1997. She discovered their bodies, People reports. The “When Harry Met Sally” filmmaker was also a father to Tracy Reiner from his first marriage to Penny Marshall.
There has been an outpouring of love for Tracy, Romy, and Jake following the tragic events on Sunday, December 14. Rob and Singer were found dead at their Brentwood, California home. Reiner was 78, and Singer was 68. A statement of support has also come from the Houston Police Officers’ Union (HPOU).

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Jake Reiner and his family during this incredibly difficult time,” the HPOU said in a Facebook statement on Monday, December 15. “During his years as a Houston news anchor at KPRC 2, Jake was a true friend to the men and women of the Houston Police Department. He treated our officers with fairness, professionalism, and respect, and he consistently gave law enforcement a voice when it mattered.”
Jake is an actor and a co-host of the podcast “The Incline: Dodgers Podcast.” But before his latest career move, he worked in journalism at KPRC 2, Chron reports. He had this position from January 2016 until August 2018.
The Houston Police Officers’ Union ended their message with support, writing, “We are grateful for the way he supported this profession and this city, and we stand with him and his family now.” The statement has attracted over 1,000 likes, multiple shares, and comments.
Social media has been flooded with messages for Reiner’s family, and on Jake’s most recent Instagram post, from nine weeks earlier, fans have used the comment section as a way to pay their respects. Reactions include “Just heard of the passing of your parents. Truly heartbreaking. So sorry for your loss Jake. Sending love to you and your family. May they rest with the angels,” and “Sending you so much love right now. We are grieving with you.”
