Romy Reiner and her brother Jake Reiner were seen together for the first time since the tragic death of their parents, stepping out for a quiet walk along the beach in Malibu, California.
The siblings were photographed on Monday outside a beach house where they have been staying since their parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, were found dead in their home earlier this month, according to Page Six. In photos obtained by Page Six, the two appeared somber as they walked side by side along the shoreline.
Jake was accompanied by his girlfriend, Maria Gilfillan, and another woman, according to the outlet. At one point, the group was seen standing in a small circle, talking quietly together, Page Six reported.
Leaning on Loved Ones During a Difficult Week
Romy wore a black sweater, jeans, and a hat for the outing, while Jake dressed casually in a T-shirt, gray shorts, and a hat, Page Six reported.
“Earlier in the day, Romy was seen being comforted by loved ones outside the home,” Page Six wrote. She had been spotted at the beach house over the weekend, where she marked her 28th birthday surrounded by family and close friends, the outlet reported.
“Jake joined his sister at the property on Sunday afternoon and was seen taking a somber stroll on the beach with his girlfriend,” Page Six wrote.
Under the Radar as Legal Case Continues
GettyThe siblings have largely stayed out of public view since their parents’ passing. The beloved Hollywood couple was found dead at their Brentwood, Calif., home on December 14, as reported by BBC.
According to sources cited by The Post, Romy went to check on her parents after they missed a massage therapy appointment and discovered their bodies. Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were found with multiple stab wounds, according to their death certificates.
Authorities later arrested the couple’s youngest son, Nick Reiner. The New York Times reported that he has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and remains in custody at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. The report also stated that he is scheduled to be arraigned on January 7 and reportedly plans to plead not guilty.
Choosing Privacy, Unity & Family
GettyAs the family continues to grieve, those close to the Reiners say Romy and Jake are leaning on one another and prioritizing unity during an uncertain and painful period.
“They are sheltering from the storm, both literally and emotionally,” the source said. “They all felt it was really important to come together as a family for the festive week and to mark Romy’s birthday, however subdued the celebrations.”
For now, the siblings are keeping a low profile. Sources say their focus remains on family, privacy, and finding their way forward together.
