Savannah Guthrie made her return to the ‘Today’ show on Monday, April 6 and had an emotional moment with the fans.
The beloved host has been absent from the show after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing in February, with there being an ongoing investigation into her abduction.
During the 8 a.m. hour, Guthrie joined her colleagues on the ‘Today‘ show plaza, where she was met with loud cheers as well as numerous fans holding signs and wearing yellow ribbons and shirts, showing support for the host.
“These signs are so beautiful. You guys have been so beautiful,” Guthrie told the crowd. “I’ve received so many letters, so much kindness to me and my family. We feel it. We feel your prayers so thank you so much.”

In her return, Guthrie wore a bright yellow dress, and it held a very special meaning.
Yellow has been a symbol of hope throughout the search for Nancy, with many people wearing yellow ribbons as well as leaving signs with the color included at the host’s mother’s Arizona home.
She wasn’t alone as Craig Melvin wore a yellow tie, with the studio also being filled with yellow flowers.
