‘Southern Charm’ Star Talks Crashing With Co-Stars During Major Home Renovation

Shep Rose revealed he’ll be displaced from his home for at least six months this year—and he isn’t ruling out shacking up with a “Southern Charm” co-star if needed.

In February 2026, the Bravo star shared the update during an interview with NBC New York as he spoke about renovations taking place at his new South Carolina home.

Rose, 45, noted that Craig Conover is a better roommate than Whitney Sudler-Smith.

“Craig’s actually a good roommate because he’s always ordering Uber Eats, and he’s got the burgers on the grill. I’m like, ‘This is great,” Rose admitted. “I would say Whitney is not the best, and here’s why. That house, there’s not really any place to get comfortable. It’s like a museum, so you’re not sure what to do with your downtime.”

Last year, Rose moved from his Isle of Palms, SC, bachelor pad to a $3.25 million, 5000-square-foot home on Sullivan’s Island, per BravoTV.com.

Fans got a look at the spacious home on the 11th season of ‘Southern Charm.”

“I recently bought this new house, because I just wanted a house on Sullivan’s Island, which is one of my favorite places in the world,” Rose said in a confessional. “It’s bigger. It’s like historical. Four bedrooms. Four baths.”

Referring to it as a “big boy house,” he added, “The house fits my personality. No frills. I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles. I don’t need a brand new kitchen and vaulted ceilings and crown molding.”

Shep Rose Received Help from Co-Star Rodrigo Reyes

Rose talked about his new home during a January appearance on the “Southern Charm After Show.” He enlisted the help of co-star Rodrigo Reyes, an interior designer, to help furnish and decorate the home.

“It was kind of a race against the clock because Shep had nothing, and it was a matter of every bedroom having a bed,” Reyes said. “We weren’t sure if there was going to be a complete redesign of certain parts of the house, but now that it’s actually taking place, though, now we’re going to the next phase.”

“Renovations start in two weeks. So, I’m going to be essentially homeless,” Rose chimed in. “It’s kinda daunting, but also exciting.”

Rose also joked that he can “bounce around” various friends’ houses “like “the vagabond” that he is throughout the renovation period.

In the interview with NBC, Rose said things are going “great” at his new place despite the renovations. “I love the neighborhood,” he said. “It’s so cool. My cousin and his family are across the street. My college buddy is down the road. It’s quiet, and I love it. “
