Shia LaBeouf Bought a $1 Million New Orleans Home to ‘Reset and Refocus’ After Mia Goth Split

Shia LaBeouf may be a famous figure in Hollywood; however, he is now a resident of New Orleans. Following his split from “Frankenstein” actress Mia Goth after nearly a decade of marriage, the actor has left Los Angeles behind to start a new life in Louisiana.

Buying a house for just over $1 million “months after his split” from Goth, this is “a fresh start he hoped would mark a new chapter,” according to TMZ. His aim is to “reset and refocus.”

Indeed, a source told People, “He was just unhappy in Los Angeles and saw New Orleans as a reset.”

LaBeouf made the big move in December 2025, according to sources who talked to TMZ. The insiders also explained that he had bought himself a cottage with three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. That’s not to mention the fact that the Uptown home is located around 20 minutes from the French Quarter.

If you’re unfamiliar with Uptown, the area’s “homes — gleaming and tiered like wedding cakes or shot-gunned into long, narrow lots — are the place’s glory and sheltered by canopies of leafy green or family trees as branched and blossoming as any ancient magnolia. The air’s opulent with the scent of jasmine and a slower, grander age,” according to Visit New Orleans.

“Uptown, where white tablecloths still cover two-tops,” Visit New Orleans continues. “The waiter knows both your name and your preferences. A gin fizz? The crabmeat salad? Satsuma orange ice cream? They’re all on offer, as are the dazzling array of goods. The smart shops on Oak and Maple, Freret and Magazine, rival anything anywhere else. But this is Uptown, sugar. Once you’re here, there’s no reason — not ever — to leave.”

LaBeouf’s new home isn’t only close to the French Quarter, it’s also close to his father, Jeffrey, which is one of the reasons why the actor moved into the area.

“He’s very close with his dad and wanted to spend more time with his dad,” the source said, according to People.

TMZ also noted that “[f]amily played a major role” in the actor’s move to New Orleans, adding that the star “is extremely close with his dad Jeffrey, who lives in the area … [S]ources say being closer to him was a priority.”
