Sunday Rose Kidman Urban said growing up around her mother’s creative career played a major role in shaping her own interests.
The 17-year-old model opened up about her upbringing and ambitions in a new interview with Elle Australia, revealing that spending time on set with her mom, Nicole Kidman, sparked her interest in both modeling and filmmaking.
“I definitely gained a lot of interest from those experiences and especially being privileged enough to experience them at a young age,” Sunday said. “My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life. She’s a key part of everything I do.”
Sunday Rose Has Managed to Stay Grounded
As the daughter of two high-profile stars — Kidman and country singer Keith Urban — Sunday has spent much of her life in the public eye.
Despite that, she said maintaining a normal teenage routine has helped her stay grounded.
“The privilege of having these experiences and meeting so many new people is so amazing, but as a teenager it’s so easy to get sucked in to all of it so fast,” she explained. “So being able to come back [to Nashville] and keep that perspective of being back at high school keeps me grounded.”
Sunday has already begun carving out a place for herself in the fashion world.
In October 2024, she made her runway debut during Paris Fashion Week, walking in the spring/summer 2025 show for Miu Miu.
Still, the teenager said she tries to balance exciting career moments with everyday milestones.
She revealed that she shot her Elle Australia cover just hours before heading to her school’s winter formal — a reminder that she’s still very much living the life of a typical high school student.
Kidman has also offered her daughter some practical advice about navigating the business.
“The biggest piece of industry advice mum has given to me is to always be on time,” Sunday said. “There’s always going to be something with an early call time that you don’t want to get up for, but it’s really important to be on time because it shows that you’re prepared and grateful to be there.”
The Family Rules She Had to Follow
Sunday previously revealed that her parents had strict guidelines when it came to stepping into the spotlight.
In a past interview with NYLON in August 2025, she explained that Kidman and Urban created two key rules before she could begin exploring opportunities in the fashion industry.
“The first was that I couldn’t explore any kind of fashion work until I was 16, and the second is that school always has to come first,” she said.
Although she admitted she wasn’t initially thrilled with the restrictions, Sunday later realized the benefits.
“I am actually really glad that I have these rules in place because it keeps me in a good mindset,” she said.
Kidman and Urban also share daughter Faith Margaret Kidman Urban.
Kidman is also mother to Isabella Jane Cruise and Connor Cruise from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
