Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin Celebrate 29 Years of Marriage

Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin are celebrating 29 years of marriage, and their relationship is getting renewed attention as fans look back at how it all started and how they’ve managed to stay together through the years.

According to Parade, the couple first met in 1988 at a restaurant in West Hollywood when Flavin was just 19. Their relationship didn’t follow a perfect timeline early on. After dating for several years, they split in 1994 following Stallone’s widely publicized breakup letter. Still, the two eventually found their way back to each other, reconciled in 1995 and later tied the knot in London in May 1997.

Since then, they’ve built a life together that includes three daughters and decades of shared milestones, both in their personal lives and in the public eye. Now, nearly three decades into their marriage, their relationship continues to stand out for its longevity and the fact that they’ve worked through real challenges along the way.

They’ve Been Open About What It Takes

Flavin has been honest about what it actually takes to maintain a long-term relationship. In October 2025, she spoke about their marriage and made it clear that perfection has never been the goal.

“There is no perfect marriage,” she said on “The Katie Miller Podcast,” per Us Weekly. She explained that every couple experiences highs and lows, including “good days,” “bad days,” and even “good years” and “bad years.”

Flavin pointed to patience and forgiveness as two of the biggest reasons their relationship has lasted. She also noted that many couples tend to give up when things get difficult instead of taking the time to work through those moments.

Their marriage faced one of its most public challenges in 2022 when Flavin filed for divorce after 25 years together. The split made headlines at the time, but it didn’t last long. The couple reconciled within two months and ultimately decided to move forward together.

Stallone later reflected on that period, calling it a “reawakening” and admitting it made him realize how important his family is. He has also been candid about past mistakes, including how he handled their earlier breakup, showing how much their relationship has evolved over time.

Flavin also emphasized the importance of maintaining a connection outside of parenting. She shared that she and Stallone make time for each other privately, whether it’s sitting together or having a quiet moment without distractions. “If you’re good as husband and wife, your children will be good,” she said.

A Family That’s Grown With Them

At the center of their relationship is the family they’ve built together. Stallone and Flavin share three daughters — Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet — who have all grown up in the spotlight and are now carving out their own careers.

Sophia, the eldest, has worked behind the scenes in entertainment and co-hosts the podcast “Unwaxed” with her sister Sistine. Sistine has built a career in modeling and acting, while Scarlet has also stepped into both worlds, including appearing in “Tulsa King.”

Per InStyle, the sisters first gained wider public recognition in 2017 when they were named Golden Globe Ambassadors. More recently, the family has given fans a closer look at their dynamic through the Paramount+ reality series “The Family Stallone,” which highlights both their individual personalities and their close bond as a unit.

Over the years, the couple has continued to show up for each other and their family, even after facing setbacks. As they celebrate 29 years of marriage, their relationship reflects growth, commitment and the decision to keep moving forward together.

“There is no perfect marriage.”
