Tatiana Schlossberg, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and brother to Jack Schlossberg, has passed away at age 35, her family confirmed on Tuesday, December 30.
“Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts,” the statement, which was shared via the JFK Library Foundation Instagram, read. “George, Edwin and Josephine Moran Ed, Caroline, Jack, Rose and Rory.”
Tatiana Schlossberg Battled Cancer
Schlossberg announced she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a terminal cancer, in November 2025.
“I did not — could not — believe that they were talking about me,” she wrote of receiving her diagnosis, in an essay published in The New Yorker. “I had swum a mile in the pool the day before, nine months pregnant. I wasn’t sick. I didn’t feel sick. I was actually one of the healthiest people I knew.”
According to Schlossberg, doctors discovered her disease while she was in the hospital after giving birth to her second child. She and husband George Moran welcomed a daughter in May 2024. They also share a son, whom they welcomed in 2017.
“[My family has] held my hand unflinchingly while I have suffered, trying not to show their pain and sadness in order to protect me from it. This has been a great gift, even though I feel their pain every day,” she added in her emotional essay.
Prior to her diagnosis, Tatiana graduated from Yale University and the University of Oxford before working as an environmental journalist and author, as well as a science and climate reporter for The New York Times.
In addition to her husband and children, Tatiana leaves behind her parents, Caroline Kennedy and contemporary artist Edwin Schlossberg, brother Jack and sister Rose Schlossberg.
