Along with a premiere date, FX released a new synopsis of the final season.

The show “picks up the morning after Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Natalie ‘Sugar’ (Abby Elliott) discover that Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) has quit the food industry, leaving the restaurant to them.”

“With no money, the threat of a sale and a torrential storm in their way, the new partners must band together with the rest of the team to achieve one last service, hoping they’ll finally earn a Michelin star,” adds the synopsis. “Ultimately, they learn that what makes a restaurant ‘perfect’ might not be the food, but the people.”

In addition to White, Edebiri, Elliott, and Moss-Bachrach, the final season will also star Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson. Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter and Jamie Lee Curtis, meanwhile, will return in in recurring roles.

Final Season Announcement After Surprise Episode

News about the show’s final season comes just one day after a surprise drop of a new flashback episode.

Titled “Gary,” the one-off episode, co-written by and starring Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal, showed the pair on a work trip to Gary, Indiana.

Per the streamer, the episode follows “the two friends’ complicated relationship, uncovering new layers of Mikey’s mental state while offering crucial insight into the man Richie is when audiences first meet him in Season 1 — adding emotional context that reframes their story from the very beginning.”

It’s available now on Hulu and Disney+.
