They made their official debut as a couple in October 2023 at the Rome Film Festival, where Burton supported Bellucci at the premiere of her film “Maria Callas: Lettere e Memorie.” Coverage at the time described Burton as “so in love and happy,” according to The Independent.
Bellucci on Falling for Burton
Bellucci spoke warmly about her relationship with Burton during a June 2023 interview with Elle France, shortly after news broke that he had cast her in the highly anticipated sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”
“What I can say … I’m glad I met the man, first of all,” she said. “It’s one of those encounters that rarely happens in life … I know the man, I love him and now I’m going to meet the director — another adventure begins.”
Burton cast Bellucci as the villainous Delores in the 2024 film, giving them a chance to work together both personally and professionally.
Past Relationships & Family
Before his romance with Bellucci, Burton was in a long-term relationship with actress Helena Bonham Carter from 2001 to 2014. The pair, who never married, share two children: son Billy, born in 2003, and daughter Nell, born in 2007.
During their years together, they collaborated on several films, including “Sweeney Todd,” “Dark Shadows,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Corpse Bride,” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” Bonham Carter later described their split as “a divorce.”
Bellucci was previously married to French actor Vincent Cassel, best known for “Ocean’s 12” and “Ocean’s 13.” They tied the knot in 1999 and welcomed daughters Deva in 2004 and Léonie in 2010 before ending their marriage in 2013.
