Vanessa Hudgens is opening up about a part of postpartum life many new moms experience, sharing a candid look at hair loss just months after welcoming her second child.
The 37-year-old actress took to Instagram Stories to document the moment, holding up strands of hair and writing, “And so it begins.” She followed it up with a selfie, adding, “Having a great hair day even with my hair loss lol,” offering a lighthearted take on the experience.
According to People, Hudgens’ update comes nearly four months after she gave birth to her second baby in November 2025. The actress is now a mom of two, sharing a son born in July 2024 and a daughter born in 2025 with her husband, Cole Tucker.
A Candid Look at Postpartum Changes
Hudgens’ posts highlight a common postpartum condition known as telogen effluvium, a temporary form of hair loss caused by hormonal shifts after childbirth. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the condition typically begins a few months after delivery and can last several months before hair growth returns to normal.
Per the Daily Mail, Hudgens shared a photo showing a small clump of hair after brushing, marking the start of the shedding phase. Despite the change, she appeared in good spirits, styling her hair in soft curls and embracing the moment with humor.
The actress has continued to give fans an unfiltered look into her postpartum journey, balancing honesty with a sense of ease as she navigates life after baby No. 2.
Life as a Mom of Two
Hudgens and Tucker, who married in December 2023, have largely kept their family life private, choosing not to publicly share their children’s names. Still, Hudgens has offered small glimpses into her day-to-day life as a mom.
Shortly after announcing the birth of her second child, she posted a relaxed photo at home, writing, “Home in pjs all day is the vibe,” capturing the reality of life with a newborn, according to People.
She has also reflected on how much her life has shifted in a short period of time. In a previous post, Hudgens shared a throwback photo and noted her transition from “dancing on tables” to becoming a mom of two, calling it a “journey.”
Hudgens first announced her second pregnancy in July 2025, captioning a photo with Tucker, “Round two!!!!” The couple, who began dating in 2020, have continued to keep their relationship and growing family mostly out of the spotlight.
As Hudgens adjusts to this new chapter, her recent posts offer a glimpse into both the physical changes and everyday realities of postpartum life, showing that even as she embraces motherhood, she is navigating it in real time.
“And so it begins.”
