Kerry Washington sat front row with her husband, 44-year-old NFL player turned filmmaker Nnamdi Asomugha and they both made eye-catching arrivals on the orange carpet ahead of the show.

A few days before the show, Washington gave a sweet shoutout to one of her “Scandal” costars who is now starring on “The Hunting Wives,” Katie Lowes. Lowes played Quinn Perkins, who was one of Olivia’s original “gladiators” employed at her crisis management firm on the show. Her enviable style even inspired a clothing collection by The Limited, according to Pop Sugar. She told The Wall Street Journal in 2014 when the designs dropped that she co-designed the line with the brand’s head designer and Scandal’s costume designer, Lyn Paolo, whom she called “brilliant.” She said they all worked hard to bring to life the way the high-powered D.C. crisis fixer “lives her identity through her fashion.”
She then talked about how the character-based narratives drove “Scandal” to success. “I think the show does so well across the board because all the characters are three-dimensional. Our characters are complicated human beings dealing with complicated issues. Nobody’s just a caricature,” she explained.
