Zendaya finally spoke up about the rumors that her and Tom Holland had secretly tied the knot. During her Mar. 16 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” the actress addressed the rumors and the viral AI wedding photos that have been circulating around the internet recently.
Zendaya and Holland, who went public with their relationship in July 2021, were believed to have gotten engaged when Zendaya was seen at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 5 wearing a diamond on the ring finger of her left hand. Citing sources close to the couple, TMZ confirmed the news of their engagement the following day.
Following this, people believed that the two stars got married after Zendaya’s longtime stylist and friend Law Roach attended the Actor Awards (formerly the SAG Awards) on Mar. 1. While speaking to Access Hollywood on the red carpet, Roach said, per EntertainmentNow, that “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.”
When the reporter asked, “Is that true?” Roach replied, “It’s very true!”
Though the couple tends to keep the intimate details of their relationship private, Zendaya addressed the wedding rumors on the late-night talk show with her usual wit and grace.
Zendaya Reacts to AI Wedding Photos of Her and Holland
Host Jimmy Kimmel started to ease into the marriage questions by bringing up Zendaya recently crashing a wedding in Las Vegas. The couple had no idea the actress was going to show up, however, she said that they signed up to get married at a “The Drama” themed chapel, referring to her upcoming movie with Robert Pattinson.
On Saturday, March 14, A24 opened a one-day wedding chapel in Las Vegas for couples who want to wed “the A24 way” ahead of the film’s release. The production company set up merchandise for the film along with cardboard cutouts of Zendaya and Pattinson standing across from each other in a wedding dress and suit, per PEOPLE.
The host then moved onto the topic of the internet going “berserk with stories that you might actually be married to Tom.”
Zendaya cheekily replied with, “Really? I haven’t seen any of that.”
“People make these AI wedding photos that look very realistic of you guys together, married,” Kimmel said.
“Many people have been fooled by them,” Zendaya said. “While I was just out and about in real life and people are like, ‘Oh my God, you’re wedding photos are gorgeous,’ and I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real.'”
Zendaya confirmed that some people in her life were fooled by these fake photos and mad that they weren’t invited.
Kimmel then played a clip from “The Drama,” that Zendaya said would “clear the confusion,” with Holland’s head edited over Pattinson’s as their characters posed for a wedding photo.
All About Zendaya’s Upcoming Wedding Movie ‘The Drama’
“The Drama” is about “a happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails,” according to the official A24 website for the film.
In addition to Zendaya and Pattinson, Mamoudou Athie and “Haim” sister Alana Haim, known for starring in “Licorice Pizza,” have joined the cast, per Deadline. Kristoffer Borgli is the writer and director of the film.
Other than the synopsis, the plot for “The Drama” has been mostly kept under wraps. However, in December 2025, The Boston Globe ran a mock engagement ad for the fictional couple to promote the film, per PEOPLE.
“Mr and Mrs. Roger Harwood of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, announce the engagement of their daughter, Emma Harwood, to Charlie Thompson, son of Mr. And Mrs. Alan Thompson of London, England,” the announcement read. “Mr. Harwood, a decorated military veteran, is proud to share this joyous news.”
The ad went on to outline Zendaya and Pattinson’s characters’ accomplishments, including where they went to college and what degrees they earned. The announcement ends with the couple’s wedding date, April 3, 2026, which corresponds with the release date of the film, per Variety.
