Former “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Candiace Dillard Bassett is no stranger to controversial moments, especially on social media. In fact, at one point, her social media activity cost her a decent amount of money.
The TV personality admitted on her podcast, “Undomesticated,” that she once received a hefty fine during her time on “Real Housewives,” all due to her likes online.
Candiace Dillard Bassett Was Fined $35,000 for Her Likes on Social Media
During an episode of her “Undomesticated” podcast alongside co-host Michael Arceneaux and “The Traitors” co-star Tiffany Mitchell, Candiace Dillard Bassett revealed she once received a huge fine from Bravo.
The fine stemmed from Dillard Bassett liking different posts online that went against her contract.
“There are rules … There was definitely a paralegal or somebody in business whose job it was just to watch my Twitter. And this was back when you could see people’s ‘likes,'” Dillard Bassett remarked.
She added, “If something sat well in my spirit, boop. Like, like, like. I was liking left, right, and center. And that went against the rule.”
Lisa Rinna inspired Dillard Bassett to share the story, as Rinna had expressed being fined $50,000 herself in her new book, “You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It” (via Yahoo!).
“I remember I texted her and I was like, ‘I feel really seen by that.’ I always kinda felt like I was alone in that,” Dillard Bassett shared on the podcast.
According to Dillard Bassett, Bravo docked her pay without giving her a warning. When she inquired about the shortage in her paycheck, the reality star stated that network employees admitted it and explained why.
“Thanks for telling me!” the podcast host exclaimed with a laugh.
Candiace Dillard Bassett Does Not Plan to Return to “RHOP” Anytime Soon
GettyCandiace Dillard Bassett appeared on “RHOP” beginning in Season 3 before announcing her exit after Season 8. While Housewives come, go, and then return all the time, Dillard Bassett has no immediate plans for a comeback.
After hearing speculation from fans about an imminent return, the reality star shut down those rumors.
“I do not have any plans to return to Potomac at this time,” she said in a December 2025 episode of her “Undomesticated” podcast. “I say that, you never know, as someone who believes firmly in never saying never.”
Dillard Bassett continued, “I’m not saying it will never happen. But what I am saying is, as you all are badgering and beating down my door to come back like, yesterday, I am not having those conversations.”
In the meantime, the star has plenty to keep her busy. In addition to her podcast, she is balancing being a wife, a mom of one, music, and diving into other acting opportunities (via Bravo).
In fact, Dillard Bassett made her stage musical debut in October 2025. She appeared as Miss Lilly in Dennis Williams’ production, “I’ve Cried the Blues.”
