Dorit Kemsley Lets Her Legal Team Go as PK Divorce Takes Complicated Turn

Dorit Kemsley is making a major change to her legal representation as her divorce from estranged husband Paul “PK” Kemsley continues.

The longtime “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star has replaced the attorney who had been representing her in the divorce, according to a court document shared by attorney Ronald Richards.

Richards weighed in on the change in a September 7 Instagram post, claiming Dorit had “fire[d]” her current legal team and predicting the move could further complicate an already contentious case.

Dorit Kemsley Changes Attorneys in PK Divorce

The September 1 court filing shows Dorit substituting attorney Samantha Spector of Spector Law for attorney Julio R. Bardavid.

Richards had plenty to say about the change.

“In other words, she has retained an attorney close to her in the 818 [area code] and has left the more expensive high-power [law] firm in Century City that had represented her all this time,” Richards wrote.

He then claimed the former couple remained at odds over an earlier court order.

“The parties still cannot agree on the order from the hearing over a week ago,” he continued. “Now, with new counsel, things will get even more complicated.”

Richards added that there was “no end in sight” for the divorce proceedings.

Dorit herself has not publicly characterized the reason for the attorney change in the filing shown.

Dorit and PK Kemsley Are Also Preparing to Sell Their Home

The legal shakeup comes as Dorit and PK work through another major piece of their separation: their Los Angeles home.

The former couple reportedly agreed to sell the property, with PK expected to cover the mortgage until Dorit moves out. Richards also addressed the financial arrangement in his post, claiming PK would seek reimbursement from the proceeds if he advances funds.

“We believe that PK does not want to be forced to service the debt,” Richards wrote. “And [he] would only like reimbursement if he so chooses to advance funds. PK has no objection to Dorit getting reimbursed for any funds she advances. What a mess.”

Dorit filed for divorce from PK in April 2025 after nearly a decade of marriage. The pair had previously announced their separation in May 2024.

The latest court filing does not explain why Dorit changed attorneys, but it does confirm another significant shift as she and PK continue working through the financial and legal details of ending their marriage.

Will Dorit Kemsley’s Divorce Play Out on RHOBH Season 16?

The timing of Dorit’s latest legal move could also prove interesting for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” viewers.

Season 16 is currently filming, meaning cameras are rolling while Dorit and PK continue navigating their divorce and the complicated financial issues surrounding it. With Dorit now changing attorneys and the former couple also moving toward selling their Los Angeles home, there is plenty happening away from the cameras that could potentially make its way onto the show.

Bravo has not revealed how much of Dorit’s ongoing divorce will be documented during the upcoming season, so viewers will have to wait to see whether they get a behind-the-scenes look at any of these latest developments.

Dorit is expected to return for Season 16 alongside several familiar faces, while newcomers are also entering the mix. With filming underway as her divorce continues to evolve, her life after separating from PK could once again become a major part of her story when RHOBH returns.
