Sitcom Star Turned Down ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Five Times

Lisa Ann Walter won’t be making the jump from ABC to Bravo anytime soon.

In a new interview with Betches, the “Abbott Elementary” star claims she’s been repeatedly asked to join the cast of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” before explaining why she’s said “No” to the powers that be.

Walter, of course, currently stars as Philadelphia teacher Melissa Schemmenti on the ABC sitcom, which premiered in 2021 and was renewed for a sixth season in March 2026.

Why Lisa Ann Walter Turned Down RHOBH

Playing a game of How Online Are You? with Betches, in a video shared to Instagram on May 12, Walter shocked the host by claiming: “They asked me to be on the show five times.”

“I said, ‘I’m not a Housewife. I’m not a wife,'” she continued. “They said, ‘The girls don’t have to fight.’ I said, ‘I don’t have a house, I don’t live in Beverly Hills, and I’m not a wife. The only thing I’ve got is real.'”

That being said, Walter has nothing against reality TV, even if she doesn’t want to be part of it.

“No shade to people who love this. I watch 90 Day Fiancé, so who am I to judge?” she quipped.

Fans React to Possible Casting

While Walter has no interest in joining the show, fans dove into the comments of the video to plead for her to accept Bravo’s offer.

“She would vibe so well with Tilly,” wrote one fan, while another echoed that sentiment, adding, “I want her and Jennifer Tilly filming right now!!”

“No but I need her to be on the show now… @bravotv @bravoandy PAY HER WHATEVER SHE WANTS!” exclaimed someone else. Another fan, meanwhile, added, “I literally don’t gaf that she doesn’t have a house, husband, or live in BH. I would be so fully sat for every word that comes out of this beautiful ladies mouth 😂 and I don’t feel like I’m alone in this.”

One follower, however, respected her decision and agreed with her reasons for not doing the show.

“OMG YES! I get so annoyed when they don’t live in a house, and they’re not married. Like those are the two requirements of the show 😄” they wrote.

Someone else disagreed, commenting, “None of them live in BH or are wives tho….”

They’re not entirely wrong, as Season 15 cast members Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke, and Rachel Zoe are all single. Bozoma Saint John, however, is engaged to Keely Watson; Amanda Frances was engaged to Eddie Tsivislavsky at the time of filming and is now married.

More Stars Who Turned Down RHOBH

Walter is hardly the only star to say “No” to Bravo, as a number of big names have claimed they’ve turned down RHOBH paychecks over the years.

According to a Buzzfeed list, stars including Christina Applegate, Paula Abdul, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kris Jenner, and Jennie Garth all said they were asked to join the show, but turned it down.

LeAnn Rimes also recently addressed speculation she was joining the show, after her husband Eddie Cibrian’s ex, Brandi Glanville, previously starred on it.

“Omg, dying!” Rimes commented on an Instagram video in which “The Bachelorette” alum Rachel Lindsay mentioned the rumors on her podcast. “No, no…. no housewives for me. Playing Dixie on 911 Nashville is drama enough for me,” she added.
