‘Bringing up Bates’ Star ‘Thankful’ to Be Home After Health Scare

“Bringing Up Bates” star Erin Bates is finally home after nearly three weeks in the hospital.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, September 13, Bates gave fans an update on her health, adding that she’s grateful to be back home.

“After almost three weeks in the hospital, I have never been so thankful to finally head home to our babies,” the reality star, 34, wrote.

Bates shared photos that appeared to have been taken when she was discharged from the hospital. One picture showed the “Bringing Up Bates” star holding her newborn baby while sitting in a wheelchair, with her husband, Chad Paine, behind her. Another shot featured her in a car next to their baby, tucked into a car seat.

“We don’t have all the answers yet, and I still don’t have function in my right leg, but we are choosing to count every blessing—especially the gift of being together again,” Bates continued. “Your prayers have carried us through and mean the world to our family.”


What Happened to ‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Erin Bates?

Bates and Paine welcomed their seventh child, Henry Blythe, on August 25. In an Instagram post, Paine revealed that his wife was continuing to “recover from some complications.”

On September 1, Paine shared another update, confirming that baby Henry was “doing well” in the NICU, while Bates was “fighting through” some serious complications.

“Erin developed a severe UTI and kidney infection, which sent her into septic shock,” he wrote at the time. “She is currently still in the ICU as doctors continue to treat, diagnose and search for answers.”

On September 4, Paine revealed that Bates “suffered a lengthy and severe seizure” and was “extremely weak.”

A few days later, Bates and Paine shared a video from her hospital bed with baby Henry, staying optimistic as they continued the recovery journey.

Bates was then transferred to a new hospital on September 9, where “a team of doctors is working together to help her improve.”

Bates and Paine are parents to daughters Finley Marie, Holland Grace, Brooklyn Elise, and Everly Hope, and son William Gage, Charles Steven IV, and Henry Blythe.
