Jennifer Lawrence Reveals Which Reality Show She Tried To Go on While Pregnant

Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence recently told Amy Poehler she tried to go on a Bear Grylls reality series despite her pregnancy. Unfortunately, her doctor quickly vetoed the idea, Lawrence revealed on Poehler’s podcast, “Good Hang with Amy Poehler.”

Jennifer Lawrence’s Reality TV Attempt

As her last question of the interview, Poehler asked Lawrence which reality show she would like to go on. The “Die My Love” star quickly said “The Kardashians,” and for good reason. “Then I’d be, like, on a private plane going to like, Fiji,” Lawrence explained.

After Poehler disclosed that she sometimes wants to go on “The Amazing Race,” Lawrence agreed. Then, she revealed that she “tried to go on Bear Grylls.” In Lawrence’s words, “I was determined to do it. I ended up getting pregnant, but I was still going to do it. And then I texted my OBGYN and was like, ‘Hey, so I’m going to be doing Bear Grylls on like, the 17th. Is there anything I should like, tell them?’ And he was like, ‘You’re not doing that.'”

She didn’t specify which of Grylls’ many TV shows she was referring to, but given her children’s births in 2022 and 2025, Lawrence was most likely talking about “Running Wild with Bear Grylls.” Each episode of the National Geographic show featured Grylls and a different celebrity embarking on a wilderness trip.

“The Kardashians” and “The Amazing Race” weren’t the only other reality shows Lawrence and Poehler discussed on the podcast. After hearing Lawrence’s Bear Grylls story, Poehler asked if she also liked “Alone,” another survival show. Lawrence enthusiastically expressed her love for the series, and the two proceeded to gab about the show and their favorite moments.

Lawrence is a known reality TV fan. In 2018, Andy Cohen surprised the star with two members of her dream dinner party: Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel. Lawrence could not have been more excited to hug the “Real Housewives” stars, providing for a delightful moment on “Watch What Happens Live.”

According to People, Lawrence is also a fan of “Shark Tank,” “Dance Moms,” and “The Hills.” Although she may not have had the chance to star alongside Grylls, Lawrence has appeared on one of her favorite reality TV shows: “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” In 2019, she made a cameo appearance on an episode, where she was seen via FaceTime, according to People.

Lawrence has a busy and thriving career as an actress, but given her love of reality TV, it’s possible we’ll see her on other shows in the future.
