Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s 18-year-old daughter, Kate Madden, recently shared photos of her fun-filled time at the Coachella festival. Kate, whose real name is Harlow, shared several photos on Instagram showcasing her festival fit and watching Justin Bieber in the crowd.
Kate’s first photo highlighted her stylish fashion sense, something she likely inherited from her famous mom. She kept her look cool yet casual, opting for a white cropped tank top that showed off her midsection, paired with denim jeans and a black silk scarf wrapped around her head.
Another photo showed Kate rocking a denim mini skirt, black bra-like top, and combat boots, a perfect look for the festival. The 18-year-old also shared a snapshot surrounded by three of her friends, a photo of her in the crowd, and a clip of Bieber’s headlining performance.
Kate kept her caption simple, tagging Coachella and including the lips emoji. Richie later commented on her daughter’s photos, writing, “Obsessed 💕🖤.”
Kate’s Nod to Her Famous Mom
In February, Kate made headlines when she debuted a new tattoo on Instagram that looked strikingly familiar. Kate shared a photo of the back of her gold dress, giving fans a peek at a pair of small angel wings on her upper back.
The ink is clearly a nod to her mom, who has angel wings tattooed on her lower back. Kate captioned her post, “🪽” with Richie sharing three heart emojis in the comments.
Fans even pointed out the similarities, with a comment reading, “you got the same tattoo as your mom! ❤️.”
Both Richie and Madden have kept their children largely out of the spotlight, but the mother of two did share a special shoutout to Kate for her milestone 18th birthday on Instagram. Richie began her collection of images of Kate when she was a child, including photos of Kate backstage with her rocker dad, and in matching dresses with her mom. The post concluded with photos showing how she’s grown into an 18-year-old.
