‘Love Island USA’ Couple Announces Split: ‘Sometimes Loving Someone Means Letting Go’

‘Love Island USA’ season seven duo Chelley Bissainthe and Ace Greene are no longer a couple, according to an interview Chelley gave with Page Six Radio.

Chelley & Ace’s Breakup

Chelley remained pretty tight-lipped during her interview, but after fielding questions about whether she and Ace were planning to move in together, she finally admitted the two are no longer together. Yet, Chelley offered some insight into the breakup.

“It really was a tough decision like, for the both of us and very hard to decide,” Chelley said of her and Ace’s decision to part ways. She then added, “Sometimes loving someone means letting go.”

The host understood, saying sometimes it’s better to end the relationship when both people still have love and respect for each other. Chelley agreed on this point.

Chelley then said she and Ace wanted the relationship to work, but they simply couldn’t do it. “Couples go through things that are very challenging,” she said. “And sometimes the best thing to do is just, you know, make a decision that needs to be made.”

Chelley called the breakup “mutual” and said both she and Ace felt parting ways was “for the best.” However, she refrained from giving any details beyond acknowledging that her relationship was legitimate and was not for “the press” or media.

Chelley and Ace were a unique “Love Island USA” couple in that they didn’t meet for the first time on the show. Instead, they had met previously in New York, but no relationship ever came from their interaction. Luckily, the Peacock reality TV show gave them another chance at love.

Chelley and Ace didn’t get together immediately. Although they (and everyone else) could see an instant connection, they both explore other relationships. Chelley developed a connection with Austin Shepard, and Ace made a point to talk to every new bombshell that entered the villa.

However, no matter which other connections formed, Ace and Chelley couldn’t stay away from each other. They dumped their Casa Amor partners at the recoupling ceremony and were an item from then on. Although they were sent home before the finale, Chelley and Ace knew they had created a special relationship.

“Love Island USA” season seven ended in July 2025, and Chelley did not announce her breakup until December. While the relationship may not have ended in marriage, it was beautiful while it lasted.
