“Love Island USA” fans are wondering whether the upcoming reunion could bring some tension between Kenzie and Melanie after Kenzie unfollowed her castmate on Instagram.
Fans on TikTok noticed the apparent change in Kenzie’s following list, though some also pointed out that Melanie may never have followed Kenzie in the first place.
The social media activity comes after the two women faced speculation about their friendship following comments Kenzie made after leaving the Villa.
Kenzie and Melanie’s Friendship Has Faced Questions
The speculation began after Kenzie appeared to discuss Melanie during Sol’s live feed a few days after leaving the Villa.
While it initially wasn’t clear what Kenzie had said, Sol appeared to react to the conversation by saying, “Hopefully everyone didn’t hear that.”
Kenzie later addressed the situation during an appearance on “Call Her Daddy,” explaining that she and Jaiden had talked about Melanie but insisted that they weren’t trying to speak negatively about her.
“Me and Jaiden were definitely talking about them but not in an awful way,” Kenzie said. “I f—ing love Melanie and I’m gonna stand by her.”
Kenzie explained that their conversation focused on Melanie receiving more screen time than some of the other Islanders who were also in relationships.
“But it was never any s— talking, I would never talk s— about my girl,” she said. “And Jaiden likes her as well.”
Kenzie Previously Shared Her Thoughts
Kenzie also addressed Melanie’s relationship with Sincere during the podcast appearance.
“I think Melanie deserves the world. But I love Sincere, I do, he’s an amazing person,” Kenzie said.
However, she questioned whether the couple was ultimately a good match.
“I just don’t know if they’re great together,” Kenzie said. “She was always just for him, she always just wanted him. I don’t know if Sincere played it safe, but.”
Her comments sparked additional discussion among fans about the relationship and Kenzie’s friendship with Melanie.
