There’s no denying the majority of the couples in series 10 of ‘Married at First Sight UK‘ have struggled to find harmony. However, the series may finally have found its perfect match.
Abigail “Abi” Lindsay, 34, and John (surname not yet known), 38, became the first of three new couples to join the show this week. On the Monday, October 6 episode, Abi, a veterinary nurse from Bournemouth, and John, a marketing agency owner from Wales, were hitched in front of their friends and family — and it’s safe to say sparks flew from the moment they met.
A Sign of Things to Come?
With four more brides and grooms set to be matched into two more couples this week, ‘Married at First Sight UK’ fans will be hoping the experts are saving the best for last.
While there have undoubtedly been some success stories among the original nine couples, most of them have had a turbulent time since their weddings.
Series 10 has already lost its first couple, as Anita Barker, 54, and Paul Richardson, 60, departed the show on the Sunday, October 6 episode. Meanwhile, the likes of Sarah Gillanders and Dean Vary, both 31, Julia-Ruth Smith and Divarni Balogun, both 29, and Nelly Patel, 30, and Steven Springett, 34, look more likely to leave than stay at the next commitment ceremony.
It’s refreshing, therefore, to see Abi and John so smitten from the start.
An ‘Instant Spark’
A video captioned “There’s no denying an instant spark #MAFSUK” was posted to the official MAFS UK Instagram page showing the moment they met at the altar. The clip also has a text overlay that reads, “Are these two the perfect match?” Frankly, at the moment, the answer to that question looks like a resounding “YES!”
When Abigail and John laid eyes on each other, they both had huge smiles on their faces.
John told Abigail she looked “amazing” before saying to the production team off-camera, “Oh wow. She’s absolutely beautiful!”
Equally impressed, Abigail told John, “Your eyes are amazing! You’ve got stunning eyes!” It prompted John to repeat, “You look amazing! You look incredible!”
Off-camera, Abigail then told the crew, “He’s definitely my type. 100%. Instantly, I just relaxed.”
Back at the wedding, John reassured Abigail to calm any nerves, telling her, “It’s okay. I’ve got you.” When Abigail noticed some of her loved ones shedding a tear, John said, “Don’t cry. We’re gonna be fine.”
Abigail’s mother (who would later turn out to be quite the protective battle axe) then noted, “Wow! There is definitely a spark there!”
Suffice it to say, it was a good start to married life for Abigail and John — and ‘Married at First Sight UK’ fans were quick to jump on board with the couple.

‘Married at First Sight UK’ fans were delighted to finally see a couple with an instant spark at the altar.
One user wrote, “Awwww finally a match 🫶🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.”
Another said, “These two are ADORABLE 🥹😭.”
Someone else commented, “Such a lovely genuine pair. Finally!”
Finally, another MAFS UK fan gushed, “These two are everything!! 😍🤞🏼”
It remains to be seen whether Abigail and John’s relationship will maintain its early promise. ‘Married at First Sight UK’ fans will get to see some developments tonight, Tuesday, October 7 — and another couple being matched — when the show returns to E4 at 9 p.m. GMT.
