Just a few months after Rick Szabo won Season 1 of “Destination X” against “The Bachelor” alum Peter Weber, back in September 2025, casting had already started for the next season.
Then, in June 2026, NBC announced the Season 2 cast of “Destination X.” And yep, there are some very familiar reality TV faces joining the competition. From “Big Brother” legends to a “Survivor” winner and “Love Island USA” stars, this season is bringing together quite the group of reality TV veterans.
And they won’t be traveling alone. The six reality stars will compete alongside seven newcomers who have never competed on a TV show before. So, it seems like NBC is sticking with the formula that made the first season such a fun watch while adding some new faces to the mix.
Here’s what we know, so far.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is Back for Season 2
NBCOnce again, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will host “Destination X” as the contestants travel through Europe while trying to figure out where they are.
According to NBC, “the world is turned into a real-life gameboard,” with the contestants “blindly traveling across Europe aboard the blacked-out Destination X bus.”
The basic format from Season 1 is also returning. Contestants will have to pay attention to the clues around them, compete in challenges, and use their knowledge to figure out their location.
As NBC puts it, “players have one simple goal: figuring out where the ‘X’ they are.”
Honestly, that sounds simple enough until you remember that the contestants don’t actually know where they are.
Season 1 showed just how difficult that can be. Rick ultimately defeated Peter in the finale after correctly identifying the final Destination X and walked away with the $250,000 grand prize.
Yep, that means Season 2 has some pretty big shoes to fill.
6 Reality TV Stars Are Joining the ‘Destination X’ Cast
NBC is bringing six familiar faces from some of the biggest reality TV franchises to the competition.
First up is the “Big Brother” alums:
- Tiffany Mitchell, 45, from Detroit, Michigan joins the cast. She competed on “Big Brother” Season 23. She later appeared on “The Traitors” Season 4 and “The Challenge: USA” Seasons 1 and 2.
- Dan Gheesling, 42, from Dearborn, Michigan is also playing the game. Fans of “Big Brother” will certainly recognize him as the winner of Season 10. He also competed on “The Traitors” Season 2.
Let’s be real, putting Gheesling into a competition where contestants have to figure out where they are is a pretty interesting choice. He has already proven that he knows how to play a social and strategic game (i.e. Dan’s Funeral, anyone?), so it will be interesting to see how that translates to “Destination X.”
We’ll also get players from “Survivor” and a Bravo hit show “Below Deck.”
- Wendell Holland, 42, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is also joining the cast. He won “Survivor” Season 36, “Ghost Island,” before returning for “Survivor” Season 40, “Winners at War.”
- Aesha Scott, 34, from Tauranga, New Zealand. She appeared on “Below Deck Mediterranean” Season 4 and “Below Deck Down Under.” She also competed on “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (Australia)” Season 9 and “The Amazing Race Australia” Season 9 (a.k.a. “Celebrity Edition” Season 3).
Then there are two “Love Island USA” stars.
- Nic Vansteenberghe, 25, from Jacksonville, Florida, competed on “Love Island USA” Season 7 and later made a cameo in “Love Island: Beyond the Villa” Season 2.
- Kaylor Martin, 24, from Connellsville, Pennsylvania, competed on “Love Island USA” Season 6 and also appeared on “Love Island: Beyond the Villa.”
With that much reality TV experience in one cast, it seems like the strategic side of “Destination X” could get even more interesting this time around.
7 Newcomers Are Also Competing on Season 2
Of course, NBC isn’t filling the entire cast with reality TV veterans. Seven newcomers from across the United States will also compete, giving the season a mix of people who already understand the reality TV game and others who are completely new to it.
NBC says, those contestants are:
- Lacy Dollar, 47, from Mumford, AL
- Amun Cosme, 34, from Warner Robins, GA
- Matthew Gaston, 30, from San Antonio, TX
- Sasha Sloan, 29, from Salt Lake City, UT
- Will Anderson, 27, from St. Louis, MO
- Dalen Michaels, 24, from Baton Roca, FL
- Lauren Barnwell, 21, from San Francisco, CA
Honestly, this could be one of the most interesting parts of the Season 2 cast.
The reality TV veterans have experience with alliances, competitions, strategy, and being filmed around the clock. Meanwhile, the seven newcomers won’t have that same experience to fall back on. That could either make them easier targets or give them an advantage because the reality stars might underestimate them.
Let’s be real, either way, there are plenty of possibilities for how this group could interact once the competition gets underway.
When Will ‘Destination X’ Season 2 Premiere?
NBC“Destination X” Season 2 is scheduled to return to NBC alongside the network’s mid-season premieres, which means viewers can expect the new season in early 2027.
Although, at the time of this writing, an exact premiere date has not yet been announced.
For anyone who missed Season 1, there is still plenty of time to catch up before the new season arrives. The entire first season, including Rick’s wild final win over Peter, is available to stream on Peacock with a subscription.
And with Jeffrey Dean Morgan back at the helm and six reality TV veterans joining seven newcomers, “Destination X” Season 2 already has a lot going for it.
