“Beyond the Gates” fans will be disappointed to learn that it is another short week for the hit CBS soap. After coming off a week with only three new episodes last week, “Beyond the Gates” faces preemptions again.
Why Is ‘Beyond the Gates’ Not Airing New Episodes & When Will New Episodes Return
Fans of the CBS soap have gotten used to the show being preempted, even for a week filled with reruns. Season 1 of “Beyond the Gates” had several of those moments, and Season 2 is looking to be the same way.
Hot off the heels of getting preempted for March Madness, “Beyond the Gates” is yet again making room for CBS to air sports. Like last week, “Beyond the Gates” is getting bumped so that CBS can air live sports coverage for two days.
On Tuesday, May 5, and Wednesday, May 6, “Beyond the Gates” will be replaced by CBS’ live coverage of UEFA Champions League, the annual club football tournament in Europe. New episodes of “Beyond the Gates will return on Thursday, May 7, picking up right where it ended on Monday, May 4, with Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) getting a threatening picture of Ashley (Jen Jacobs), preventing him from talking with Jacob (Jibre Hordges).
For those “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” fans wondering if those shows will be off the air too, the answer is no. While the two CBS soaps might be preempted in some areas of the United States, fans can watch the new episodes later the same day on Paramount+.
The timing of “Beyond the Gates” having two short weeks in a row comes as May sweeps heat up.
‘Beyond the Gates’ May Sweeps Teasers
A lot is going down in Fairmont Crest during May sweeps, including more insight into who is really running the plasma ring at the hospital. Lia (Cecelia Specht) is a major player in the operation, but she’s not the head honcho, and she’s afraid of who is running things.
Nicole (Nicole Dupree Richardson) and Ted (Keith D. Robinson) just took a trip down memory lane on the one-year anniversary of their lives being blown up, thanks to Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) exposing Eva (Ambyr Michelle) as Ted’s daughter. Despite both of them moving on, something besides their children keeps pulling Ted and Nicole back together.
May sweeps will feature the highly anticipated cotillion. It has been talked about for months and will arrive with a bang. The cotillion will change many lives in Fairmont Crest and crush some couples, too.
Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon (Clifton Davis) have been all about fighting her cancer. However, after some good news regarding her prognosis, the couple finally gets some much-needed romantic time. Vernon and Anita have a good old-fashioned romantic evening to celebrate life and their love.
It’s sweeps month, but one of the biggest events fans have to look forward to on the hit CBS soap won’t happen until June. “The Young and the Restless” and “Beyond the Gates” major crossover event will take place then, with Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) political fundraiser serving as the reason several Genoa City residents visit Fairmont Crest.
