‘Bold & the Beautiful’ Makes History With Newest Couple

“The Bold and the Beautiful” fans are in for a treat as the long-running soap hits a historic milestone.

For the first time ever, the show will introduce a gay male couple. According to Deadline, actor Harrison Cone is joining the cast members as the newest love interest of Remy Pryce (Christian Weissman).

Cone will play the role of an aspiring designer who’s in a same-sex relationship with Remy. The actor will make his debut at Forrester Creations on September 16, the outlet reported.

It’s a First for ‘The Bold & the Beautiful’

Cone’s addition marks the first time that “The Bold and the Beautiful” has featured a gay male couple. His character and Remy will also share a passionate on-screen kiss, another first for the soap.

For now, Cone’s identity remains under wraps, though spoilers say he shares a close connection with one of the show’s major characters. Soaps.com suggests that Cone could be Nick Marone (Jack Wagner) and Brooke Logan’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) missing son, Jack Marone.

The outlet noted that Jack followed in Brooke’s footsteps, having been involved in the fashion industry. He’d be the right age, too. So far, his identity has not been confirmed yet, so it’s best to take it with a grain of salt.

While this marks the first gay male couple on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” it isn’t the first time the soap has represented the LGBTQ+ community. Back in 2012, the show introduced its first lesbian couple, Karen Spencer (Joanna Johnson) and Danielle (Crystal Chappell).

‘B&B’ Fans React to Newest Couple

Meanwhile, “The Bold and the Beautiful” fans are buzzing with opinions about the show’s latest twist. One fan wrote on Reddit, “Crazy that the show set in LA in the world of fashion is just now introducing a gay male couple. Hopefully, this plays out well.”

Another chimed in, “Nothing is more ridiculous than a fashion house full of straight male dress designers! ‘Star Trek’ was more realistic, so it’s about time gays enter the building.”

Someone also noted, “This is a show about fashion. It makes sense to represent all types of couples. Since fashion is supposed to be forward, not conservative.”

An excited fan added, “Yes! It’s about time, I’m here for it. I was just thinking about how ‘B&B’ was the only soap without an LGBTQ+ couple while watching the Martin/Smitty scenes on ‘BTG’ last night.”
