Soap fans have gotten their first glimpse of Dylan’s (Sydney Bullock) mom on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Thanks to Katie (Heather Tom), who is determined to ruin Dylan’s relationship with Will (Crew Morrow), Dylan was forced to call her mom, Darcy (Kelly Sullivan), and ask her to visit. Darcy is on her way to Los Angeles, and that means trouble.
Who is Dylan’s Mom on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’?
There’s not much known about Darcy, and with good reason. Dylan herself is still a mystery. “The Bold and the Beautiful” fans know her cousin is bad guy, Remy (Christian Weissmann), and that’s pretty much it for her background or family.
One thing that is clear from the jump is that there is a complicated history between Darcy and Dylan. After all, the only reason Dylan called her mom to visit was at Katie’s request, and Dylan seemed very nervous about having her mom visit.
Sullivan teased Darcy in her announcement of her casting on the CBS show. “I’m very excited to join the @boldandbeautifulcbs family and bring this force of nature to life. Thank you Brad Bell, for giving this amazing character to me. I can’t wait to step into Darcy’s boots. 🥰 @caseykas @cbstv @paramountplus,” read her Instagram caption.
Darcy’s about to shake things up and hopefully give fans more insight into Dylan and her family.
What to Know About Soap Star Kelly Sullivan
If Dylan’s mom looks familiar, well, that’s because she is no stranger to the soap world.
“General Hospital” fans will remember her as Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) love interest and Oliva’s (Lisa LoCicero) cousin Kate Howard, aka Connie Falconeri. Kate suffered from identity disorder but got treatment and eventually launched Crimson magazine.
Sullivan was on “General Hospital” from 2011 to 2014, when the character was killed. Ava (Maura West) killed Connie in an attempt to keep her from exposing that Derek Wells (William deVry) was really Ava’s brother, Julian Jermone.
The actress then moved on to “The Young and the Restless,” where she played Sage from 2014 to 2016. Sage was part of a love triangle with Newman brothers, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Adam (then Justin Hartley).
After giving birth to Adam’s son, Christian, who Nick is raising, Sage was killed in a fatal car accident. Playing Sage earned Sullivan two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Other credits for Sullivan include appearances on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “The Morning Show,” and “Never Have I Ever,” to name a few.
Some of Sullivan’s fellow soap stars showed up in the comments of her announcement post to share excitement over her joining “The Bold and the Beautiful.” LoCicero showed her love for Sullivan, saying, “Love this!!❤️ Miss you!!”
“The Young and the Restless” star Melisa Claire Egan (Chelsea) wrote, “YASSSSS! So happy babe!!👏❤️❤️❤️” and Tracey Bregman (Lauren) said, “Yay!! Congrats!! ❤️”. “Days of Our Lives” star Martha Madison (Belle) left several emojis in support of the news.
Buckle up, “The Bold and the Beautiful” fans, because Darcy’s about to stir up trouble for her daughter, and it’s going to be good.
