“General Hospital” star Kirsten Storms gave fans a health update amid her ongoing health struggles.
Storms, who is currently on break from the long-running soap, revealed that she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in January and is set to undergo surgery in two weeks.
In an Instagram post shared on October 14, the Maxie Jones portrayer revealed that the aneurysm was discovered three years after she underwent a craniotomy to remove a cyst in 2021.
“The January scan happened because I had symptoms that the doctors thought could’ve been brain-related,” Storms wrote. “Ok – when I say that I was shocked when the doctors told me they found an aneurysm on the right side of my brain…welp, I basically launched into a standup comedy routine.”
Storms also revealed that the doctors were not able to immediately treat the aneurysm after discovering it.
“I had a procedure done that weekend, where the doctor thread a camera from my leg up to my brain,” she continued. “Anyway, because of the slightly complex situation with the aneurysm (nothing bad, just not typical), it wasn’t coiled that weekend.”
‘General Hospital’ Star Kirsten Storms Relies on Family & Friends
As Storms prepares for the minimally invasive coiling procedure, she’s leaning on her family and close friends for support, including her “General Hospital” co-star Emme Rylan.
Storms shared that Rylan was by her side “every single day” during her 2021 craniotomy and hospital recovery. Now, she’s there for her once again, offering unconditional love and support.
“Here I am with Emme, in St. Louis,” Storms wrote. “And we are crocheting the most beautiful sweaters, while my coiling procedure is being scheduled for sometime in the next 2 weeks.”
As she deals with her health struggles, Storms has also learned to block out the noise, including rumors that she tried to “unalive” herself.
“There are a few really bad apples out there. We all know that…but there are people in my life who I am truly thankful to know. One of those individuals just made a sh*t load of sweaters with me. They are glorious.”
Fans Send Love & Support
Meanwhile, fans are rallying behind Storms, offering prayers and encouragement as she faces her latest health battle.
One fan wrote, “Sending up prayers for your healing. You are so missed on ‘General Hospital.'”
Another commented, “My prayers are with you. Although we miss you on the show, take the time to heal and take care of yourself and your daughter.”
Someone added, “She is one of my favorite actors on the show. Wishing her love and light!”
Storms previously hinted at possibly returning to “General Hospital” in November or December this year.

I loved her natural original look and so real acting. Hope all goes well and she is back soon..
