Ric Makes It Out of the Basement, Briefly
ABCToday’s episode of GH opens with Alexis at home on the phone. She is wrapping up business, as Ric is tiptoeing around her house. She has no idea that he has made it out of the basement until she feels a dagger at her throat. Ric demands that she call the police and confess to every crime that she has committed. She reminds him that if she admits everything, he goes down with her, and says that their daughter, Molly, won’t like it if he hurts her mother.
Ric thinks quickly and then demands that Alexis call Liz. Liz answers while at GH, and Ava saves Alexis by throwing a chemical in Ric’s eyes and then knocking him out cold, again. Alexis quickly texts Liz and tells her that she had called her by mistake, but Liz is unsure. She happens to be with Molly and tells her that it sounded like Ric in the background.
Meanwhile, Alexis and Ava manage to drag Ric back to the basement, and this time they handcuff him and put a ball gag in his mouth. They find ten sleeping pills, which means that Ric has been trying to escape for that many days. It also means that he has ten more days to be in the basement.
Nathan Meets His Son
ABCAlso on today’s episode, Spinelli, Felicia, and Liesl have arrived at GH with James. They believe that it is time for the young boy to meet his back-from-the-dead father, Nathan. Just before they go into the room, Britt intervenes. They give James money for the soda machine as she speaks to them. She says that both father and son need to be ready for the introduction, and are they sure that it’s the right time? She also asks if Maxie would agree with James meeting Nathan now. Britt then suggests meeting with a counselor first, and both Felicia and Spinelli agree to do that.
What they don’t know is that James has bought two sodas and brought them into Nathan’s room. He and his father have a conversation about soda flavors and are comfortably getting acquainted, when everyone else sees them. Felicia, Liesl, and Spinelli smile at the sight of James with Nathan, but Britt looks horrified. She walks out of the room and bumps into Liz, who reminds her that she’s on the clock. When Britt tells her why she is not working, Liz understands and tells her to take her time.
Liz is still thinking about Ric and makes a call to him after finishing her conversation with Britt. She gets his voicemail and leaves a message for him.
Anna Questions Carly About Drew’s Shooting
ABCAnna is trying to lock in a solid suspect in the shooting of Congressman Drew Cain. She now knows that the ballistics match Edward Quartermaine’s gun, so it has to be someone with access to the Qs’ property. She brings Carly in to answer some questions about her son, Michael. Carly insists that her son is innocent, as Anna tries to use her to verify Michael’s movements. She knows that Carly and Michael spoke on that evening, and she asks for details about the conversation.
Carly tells her that she doesn’t remember, which is a lie. In that phone call, she actually had told Michael about Willow going back to Drew. It could have easily enraged him enough to shoot Drew.. Carly dodges and reminds Anna that Michael is grieving his grandmother. Anna says that his grief is why she is talking to Carly instead of Michael. Anna asks if Carly has access to the Qs’ property, and once she says yes, it’s clear that her wheels are turning. Carly leaves not realizing that Anna is also looking at her as a suspect.
After Carly leaves, Molly stops in, and Anna tells her about the ballistics report. Molly then tells her about being invited to the Qs by Michael, only to find him there with Jacinda. Molly tells Anna about how she instantly felt like Michael wanted her to see him with the escort, to help his alibi later.
Tracy Asks a Favor of Michael
ABCTracy is out at the Quartermaine crypt visiting with Monica when Michael walks in. She quickly mentions Drew’s attempted murder case, and Michael says that he can take care of himself. She snaps about his alibi being a call girl, then tells him that she can put him in front of Drew’s house on the night of the murder.
Michael explains that he was there to confront Drew, but decided against it and left. He realized that a fight was exactly what Drew would have wanted, so he didn’t give him one. Tracy tells Michael that he is a true Quartermaine now, because she can’t tell if he is lying or telling the truth. She also says that she doesn’t care if he is guilty; her only job is to protect him, for Monica’s sake. Michael thanks her for looking out for him and the rest of the family.
Tracy then tells him that he will inherit the house. She asks him to extend to her the same privilege that Monica always did and allow her to live in the family home.
Sonny and Ronnie Bond
ABCSonny is at GH, paying his respects to Monica, when her sister, Ronnie, approaches. She introduces herself and explains that they didn’t grow up together. She tells Sonny that Monica wrote her a letter not so long ago, and they began interacting after years of silence. Ronnie tells him about going to the Qs and Tracy throwing her off the property.
Ronnie is thrilled to learn that Sonny is Michael’s father, because she has heard so much about him. She had hoped for an opportunity to meet him. Sonny and Ronnie agree that Tracy is an entitled snob, and he then takes her to Bobbie’s, where they continue their conversation. Ronnie is impressed by the diner and mentions that getting the first letter from Monica was the shock of her life. Sonny tells her about reconnecting with his dad later in life and how it was a gift.
After Ronnie leaves, Carly needs to tell Sonny about her interrogation by Anna. He pieces it together and seems to realize that both Carly and Michael are suspects in Anna’s eyes. Meanwhile, Ronnie returns to her hotel and gets a phone call. Her presence is requested for the reading of Monica’s will.
