Kelly Ripa is hoping that in her lifetime, she gets to witness a collaboration between two A-list actors who just happen to be mother and daughter.
The talk show host and former “All My Children” star opened up about her dream to Kate Hudson, who appeared on “Live With Kelly and Mark” to promote her new film “Running Point.” She told the actress that her A-list acting dream team would be a project where Hudson stars alongside her mother, Goldie Hawn.
Kelly Ripa and Kate Hudson Are Hopeful This Pairing Will Happen
In a video clip posted to the “Live With Kelly and Mark” YouTube page, Kelly Ripa admitted her deepest desire to Kate Hudson. She said that she needs to see the actress and her mother, Goldie Hawn, collaborate on a project.
“We all want to see you and your mom, Goldie Hawn, together on-screen,” Ripa declared. “Will that happen in my lifetime?”
Hudson replied, “I would love it too. Every time I see Kurt (my dad) and Wyatt Russell together I’m like, ‘that is just not fair.’ Why do you guys get to do this?”
“I would love to work with my mom,” Hudson added. “It would just have to be so right. We would both want it to be very meaningful. Whatever that is or whenever that time comes, I hope so.”
Ripa followed up with, “Have you ever considered writing a project?” Hudson said, “Yes. I have thought about it.”
She added, “My mom hasn’t worked in a long time. She does a lot with kids and she’s really happy in her life. But I think about it all the time.”
On Instagram, where the same clip was shared, fans responded to a future Hawn and Hudson project.
“I would prepay my ticket today,” wrote one follower. A second fan penned, “That would be amazing.”
“Yesss please, love Kate and Goldie so much,” a third Instagram follower commented. “That would be such a special moment,” a fourth fan noted.
What Was Goldie Hawn’s Last Acting Role?

Prior to taking a break from acting, some of Hawn’s most famous films included her Academy Award-winning role in “Cactus Flower” (1969), “Private Benjamin” (1980), “Overboard” (1987), “The First Wives Club” (1996), and “Death Becomes Her” (1992).
Kate Hudson hit Hollywood’s radar in the 1998 drama “Desert Blue” and “200 Cigarettes” (1999) before her breakout role of Penny Lane in the Cameron Crowe film “Almost Famous” for which she earned a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
She’s starred in “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” “Fool’s Gold,” and “Bride Wars.” Hudson co-founded the athleisure brand Fabletics and recorded her first LP “Glorious.”
The mother and daughter duo are incredibly supportive of one another’s careers. In a joint interview for PEOPLE Magazine, Hawn expressed her pride for her daughter’s professional accomplishments, citing her Academy Award nomination for the 2025 film “Song Sung Blue.”
“We’re so deeply, deeply proud — not a word I use very often — but I’m in awe of Kate, and I think we all are,” she explained. “Kate’s her own thing. … I was lucky to carry this little one in my belly and bring her to the world, and that’s what I’m grateful for. She never stops to surprise me or any of us with her talent.”
