Kelly Thiebaud Opens Up About Nathan’s Bombshell Reveal On ‘General Hospital’

Kelly Thiebaud, beloved for playing Britt on “General Hospital,” has opened up about the show’s recent plot twist involving the reveal that Nathan is, in fact, an imposter.

She has described the storyline as being “so fun,” even if “everything has gotten so complicated.”

In a shocking twist, “General Hospital” recently revealed that “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey) was an imposter. His real identity is Cassius, and he’s been posing as his twin brother.

“I knew when Ryan started that he wasn’t going to be Nathan, even when it wasn’t out in the open,” Thiebaud revealed to Soap Opera Digest.

“We didn’t know when that [reveal] was going to hit, so we’d just been kind of waiting to see when it was going to be exposed and I was wondering how he was going to play this evil twin.”

Theibaud stated she thought Paevey had done a “fantastic job” playing both twins.

“It’s been so fun and I’m excited to see where the writers are going to go with it and what’s going to happen between the two of them. I think there’s something really cool with these two siblings. They’re both kind of evil and make bad decisions, and it’s fun to have him in my corner but also know that I can’t fully trust him. It’s been a joy.”

However, there’s one aspect of the storyline she’s not looking forward to.

“I’m not looking forward to my mother [Kathleen Gati] finding out that I knew about all of this!” she joked. “That’s not gonna be fun!”

Thiebaud Calls Josslyn’s Big Secret “So Messy”

If Nathan’s reveal wasn’t jaw-dropping enough, another character has a shocking secret they’ve been hiding.

To conceal Nathan’s true identity, Britt revealed that Josslyn (Eden McCoy) wasn’t a “ditzy sorority girl” as everyone thought – she’s actually an agent of the World Security Bureau.

“In Britt’s eyes, [the truth about Cassius] needs to stay under wraps,” Thiebaud explained.

“It just seems like it’s best for everyone if no one knows who he is. I mean, everything has just gotten so complicated… There are a lot of people involved that [Britt]’s concerned about!”

However, Britt’s motives aren’t entirely altruistic. Thiebaud believes she “wants to save a little bit of her own reputation.”

Viewers may recall that she was a key player in helping to accelerate Faison’s cold fusion project, in exchange for medication for her diagnosis of Huntington’s disease.

Thiebaud added, “And now Josslyn is digging around… it’s so messy!”

Ryan Paevey previously spoke to Soap Opera Digest about the Nathan/Cassius plot reveal.

“This was the role I came back to play,” he stated.

However, he had to keep the role of Cassius strictly under wraps, even in his performance.

“I would ask, ‘Do you want me to pepper a little bit of Cassius in here?” he shared. “And the answer was always, ‘No, just be Nathan.'”

“It was maybe a little bit of a coarser Nathan, but still Nathan,” he said.

“It wasn’t until really recently that I’ve gotten to do Cassius, and now it’s, ‘You’re just Cassius now unless people are calling you Nathan, and then you just act like Nathan.’ Now the transition is that there is a group of people on the canvas that know who I am and a group of people from whom still I’m trying to hide my identity.”

And viewers can expect more plot twists in store for Cassius.

“There’s all kinds of crazy stuff coming when we actually do get more into the Cassius stuff,” Paevey revealed.
