There is a new face in Genoa City! Veteran soap star Tamara Braun is joining the cast of “Young and the Restless” as the character of Sienna Bacall. According to People, the actress will begin taping scenes for the sudser next week, and Sienna will debut this fall.
Tamara Has Enjoyed a Lengthy Soap Career
GettyAccording to People, Braun’s new character will arrive in Genoa City with “personal connections to several characters” already on the canvas. She is the second big-name DAYS alum to join Y&R‘s cast in recent months, following Billy Flynn, who took over the role of Cane Ashby while still airing on DAYS as Chad DiMera.
As for Braun, she is a two-time Daytime Emmy winner with 25 years of work in soaps to line her resume. She assumed the role of Carly on GH back in 2001, and a soap career was born. She left in 2005 with a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. From there, Braun moved to DAYS as Ava Vitali, scoring a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress. From 2008 to 2009, she appeared on AMC as Reese Williams, and then returned to DAYS in 2011 as Taylor Walker.
She returned to DAYS’s Ava from 2015-16 before making a surprise comeback to GH in a new role, Kim Nero, earning herself a second Daytime Emmy in the Supporting Actress category. In 2020, she once again rejoined the DAYS cast as Ava.
Tamara Left ‘Days of Our Lives’ Earlier This Year
It seems that Tamara Braun is never gone from our television screens for very long. Her last “Days of Our Lives” run as Ava ended in April 2025, and at the time, Tamara shared her thoughts on Instagram.
“I wish this were an April Fool’s Joke, but it’s not. This is Ava’s last week on Days. Last couple of days really. Sad but true. I’ve been gone since late July of last year, but you can still catch Ava on your screens until April 3rd!
I miss being with my Days pals. They are a really good group of caring individuals and being with them was a joy.
Thanks for all the #love #kindness and #support during Ava’s latest Salem stint.”
